MSI Teases Transparent TwinFrozr Cooling Solution

transparent stuff tends to change their color in long term and its kinda hard to clean if like that, i prefer solid surface or add transparent as accent

Interesting choice. Substituting a heat absorbing metal shroud with a plexi one that doesn't.

But the shroud on my bro's 760 Gaming is plastic already? :wtf:
maybe they did the switch to plastic since TF4 but i don't think the shroud could or should dissipate heat

Well...there's a thing called heat soak. The plastic might actually be better to prevent that. However, I highly doubt you'd see much a difference at all. The only benefit about seeing under that shroud would be knowing when to pull it out and use compressed air to blow out all the dust. It would be nice if companies lowered their prices due to the cheaper cost of materials BUT we all know that probably won't happen.

like to see this with some red LEDs

Clear with the option to change LED back-lighting...Red, Blue, White and UV. Then maybe...

Glad they didn't tag that transparent plastic into some kind of new space tech complete with a frivolous title like "Iced View Cool Tech" or something like that.

If the shroud was a plain transparent box and they colored the fins and heat pipes instead I'd like it but a semi see through overly frilly cooler like this is just lame
