starts up fan when computer starts but that’s about it.. thinking about doing a update of bios maybe update to 580? better one for more performance? (If I get it going again).. any other ideas how I should go on with troubleshooting? Also find one component maybe missing a solder.

Its a regulator for sure

If you mean that middle leg, it's completely normal that it's not connected.

edit: Is the card recognized at all in the OS if you have it in the second slot and use a working card in the first one to get a picture?

the card won’t give any picture in the 4-5 HDMI’s so I have not tested because the computer change to the RX when started so gonna need to use the built in gpu when troubleshooting some way.

Computer is mini-itx only one pci-e

Got this card for cheap from my friend it’s never open by him

I saw some burnt marks on two of the small boxes on the card could this make the ports dead?

Do you have an igp or apu?

I have IGP
Ok the spots on the inductors (coils) look like heatspots, anyways, look at other parts of the board for any other signs of damage or knocked off components.

Please understand, this forum is seeing many of the chinese market rx 580s, typically have been mined with, and a wrong bios will cause them to not work, for that matter any card.

Make sure you can start up on the igp please, then we will proceed

Whats that asus thing over the pcie blade?

Hi

yea I will get back when I have tried it in my computer, this card is called XFX RX 480 BLACK EDITION and is known to run hot so…

that’s just a cover for the pcie connector

Are there any other stickers? Get a pic of the heatsink with fans visible please

The voltage regulator is connected... via the solder on the back

Use a meter to check that the middle leg is connected to the back.
The question is if by design and per a gpu schematic if it should be connected or not...

Andy here is a reference board from tpu database, that midle leg is the same way and the stickers per pns of this guys card and my link are the same...

See datasheet above.

From what I see on the datasheet, the 3rd leg (middle) is Common-Case and board shots do not have it connected by design.

I do believe we are agreeing.

I do believe we are agreeing.
We concur, so i think unless if the board is checked with a meter and a lower powered bios is injected since this card cranks it up to like 1328 mhz (use a 1206 bios just to get it running)
thats if it can be injected we won't know anything, we will wait i guess

You be the VBIOS guru...

Update: so I can see the gpu but only with Intagrated graphics if I install and drivers installation freeze 4% in each time can’t connect, no signal from hdmi or display ports either

Interesting how the card bios reports micron ram but its samsung physically, tells me incorrect bios was put on the card and typically that is what miners do.

Give me time

Last Ditch bios
