Hi, thank you all for your valuable information. A few months ago, I postponed setting up my new computer, but now I would like to know which processor would be the better choice: the Intel Core i7-14700K or the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K?

I have an old configuration i7-4790K/GTX 1070 and I want to configure a new computer, that's why I returned to my thread. A few months ago, I decided not to buy any components because I read that the Intel Core i7-14700K has overheating issues and is being patched through microcode updates. Now I’m seeing that the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K is also getting microcode patches to improve its performance, especially in games. For now, I’m holding off on buying anything - either until a breakthrough microcode update comes out that significantly boosts this CPU’s performance, or until Intel releases the 16th generation, which turns out to be better than both the 14th and 15th.

Doubt the microcode will boost much, better off waiting for core ultra 300s or AMD zen 6

I'm definitely looking forward to the Intel Ultra 300 (Nova Lake‑S), these processors look very promising. The release in 2026 isn't that far away.
