My PC shuts down when running a game

My PC was working just fine until recently. I upgraded the GPU (to a GTX 1070 Dual) and upgraded the ram (32GB 3000mhz), suddenly when I try to run any sort of game, light or not, it shuts off after a few minutes.

Everything was cleaned thoroughly and re-installed to see if that was the case, still continues to shut off. I monitored my temps and for some reason they spike drastically when running a game, but this didn't use to happen before (even with weaker components). What could be causing these random crashes? :(

Build
Ryzen 3 3200G
Asus GTX 1070 Dual
TForce 32GB 3000mhz (4 x 8GB)
Kingston 500GB SSD
Asus B450m-a Prime

What is your power supply?

what specific series of evga psu? have you tried your old graphics card if it runs fine? Is the graphics card heasink properly seated along with the cpu cooler?

I genuinely cannot remember which series it was and no, I haven't tried my old gpu. The graphics card heatsink and the cpu cooler are both properly seated and I took the time to also put some new thermal paste.

only way is to test the old GPU then try gaming with it if it stil shuts down, the 1070 should be fairly fine on 500W i think.

Just tested it, took waaaay longer than the GTX 1070 for the PC to shut down. Still did it after about 30 mins.

could be a thermal issue too, the psu might be able to supply enough juice but at peak.
maybe the psu is hot and shuts down the system

What is the older GPU you have?

I would say it coud be the PSU, but try to post a screen of Hwinfo while doing a benchamark

What are the spiking temps

That is also my conclusion. The PCU power delivery is a problem here. The best way is to try a different PSU or monitor the behavior while benchmarking.
No wonder the 1070 craps out faster since it uses a bit more power than a RX560.

yeah but could be also a stupid thing like the psu fan is stuck or jammed with dust, this could explain the shutdown

Maybe some thermal paste properly put in place? But it could be faulty fans, as pointed above.

that do sound very much like your PSU , do you have a friend who has a higher wattage psu so you could try it ?, the power draw is a good bit higher with a 1070.

Well did some testing with a 3200g once and it wasnt stable with 32GB (2x16) memory on a MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard, the same kit ran fine with a 3800x cpu
