The name speaks for itself - the keyboard offers a true retro-look to its owner. Circular, detached keys ensure that the Ncore Retro has the distinctive look of a classical typewriter. The chrome finished surface in combination with the silver enclosed key caps underlines the high-quality design of the keyboard. Don't let the deliberate "retro-look" fool you though: underneath is a true mechanical keyboard with all the advantages that brings. This includes Anti-Ghosting technology and the possibility to switch between 6-Key and N-Key Rollover. A variety of function keys can be enabled through use of the FN-Key.

A total of 12 multimedia keys are included, in addition to the possibility to lock the Windows key, switch the functionality of the WASD and arrow-keys and change between 6-key and N-key rollover. As such, the keyboard is not only aimed at fans of old typewriters, but also at enthusiastic gamers and dedicated design buffs, who are looking for a classic keyboard for their office.

The keyboard sports Kaihl White Switches to give the user the haptic feeling of writing with a typewriter. The operation force is approx. 50 cN, while the full tactile force is 60 cN. The switches offer a pronounced and precisely detectable switching point. The Kaihl White switches use a more solid key shaft with gold contact and offer a life expectancy of 70 million hits per key.

Another special feature of the keyboard is the possibility to remove each key of the keyboard on its own, allowing users to change the whole layout of the keyboard, if desired. The Ncore Retro is also water resistant, allowing easy cleaning of the keyboard. The keyboard is connected through USB, with three different keyboard layouts being available in Europe. Besides a German version, both UK and US layouts will be available.

The Ncore Retro is expected to become available in stores from the end of this week. The MSRP for all three models will be 109.99€ incl. 19% VAT. Advance sales in Germany have begun today.

i miss the old model M

I really like it . For some time now of this when I read the review on this keyboard, and the only real flaw is the lack of key illumination ! Could be white or golden :( so. NO LED . !!!!!!! You can add a stylish old-fashioned lamp .

damn. I know another company makes these odd type writer style mechanical KBs. I really wish this wasnt a thing.

Wow, looks fabulous. I'd love to have one of these. It's a bit like having your regular car and the mint condition classic for special occasions.

Looks like this product could divide TPU down the middle like the Marmite effect.

Use it for the upcoming blade runner movie

.....a minute or two ago massdrop was selling the key caps set for $34 or so..... fits any cherry style keys.... but if you want the "real" .....Google Datamancer.....

kinda like it, as long as it belongs to someone else. :p

Love it. Now that's a keyboard I want to buy!
Are there any reviews out yet?

On the contrary its going to take alot more than a keyboard for me to be at odds with someone on TPU.

Whatever floats your boat :toast:

The relay nice feature here is water resistant keyboard, the key caps can be replaced for a difrent look.

But combined function and multi media keys together wit the idiotic American style slim enter key are the biggest turn of for me personally

Looks like something, that should've been a featured DIY project on Instructables or Hackaday... but definitely not a consumer product.

I think this inspired all of the crap mentioned above, but I can be wrong...

... for some reason I remember an even older steampunk keyboard project, in which a guy had used denim jacket buttons (or something like that) as keycaps. Just can't remember where I've seen it...

It's got an intriguing look, but it may be very uncomfortable to use. Or not.
