This is my favorite find so far on the internet.. http://webbase.transpro.com/hotcat/

Enter a year (I think 1990 is best as they are less expencive and easier to find) than the Model,

Than PICTURES of heater cores, different sizes, different shapes.

One of my favorites so far is 90 Ford E150 super cooling front. At Autozone they are $22 NEW.

I have 2 120mm Adjustable Silverstone in pushing. Mabye later il try 4 (2push 2 pull) but for now this will do.
Most people dont realize that the car heater cores are about 2" thick, Swiftech's core is about 1 1/4" thick. So a smaller care core works better than a bigger comp rad. (as long as the car core is thicker)

there was a cool core on that site that was 21" long and 3" high, that way you could put the core under ur desk and use a row of quiet 80mm fans.

and because there are so many more cars than comps, the prices are cheaper too.

if you find a 1/2 inlet-outlet you might be able to put the hose in hot water for a while and then when its soft it should fit. Or you could just use 1/2 hose...

I dont think there are any 3/8 car heater cores.

when looking at car heater cores look for ones that are all copper or all brass or a mix of both. Stay away from the aluminum ones as to avoid galvanic corosion in your w/c loop.

who cares what size barbs it has? mod it :rockout:

but yeah the best way would be to boil some water and stick the part of the tube you need into the water to soften the tube then slip it on the barb :toast:

The cores should be lined to prevent corrosion. If not, go to a ford dealership and buy a pint of FW-15 addative, and buy a bottle of water wetter off of Summit racing. Add 50/50 distilled water and water wetter, the 5% of the FW-15 addative to the solution (it will be blue) and use that, the thermal conductivity of the water will be almost 50% higher, and the molydisilicate addative in the FW-15 will protect all metals including aluminum from corrosion as well as make it blue in color.
