Hi. Im building a motherboard for my mom and i need a good reliable motherboard that has 2 sata slots for striping and runs a 939 pin AMD processor. I dont know what would be a good one so if you have any good ideas on motherboards can you post them? if so newegg.com only?

I assume you don't need any overclocking options with it? Pretty much any nforce4 based motherboard will be pretty nice. If you need overclockability it narrows it down quite a bit, but just running stock clocks you don't need too much. What is your price range?

I'd say go either with this MSI. Looking at the reviews it seems to be a good basic board. This DFI may be a little better, but I didn't recomend it in place because DFI boards tend to be picky with RAM.

Striping? Why the hell would your mom require RAID?

Also, motherboard, mom, theres a crap joke in there.

I agree with some of the other folks about Raid... too easy to get messed up by the user. I would just use a Raptor for the OS and Primary applications, and a large Sata for Pics and stuff, a small amount of drive mapping will save a lot of headaches later.
