Hi everybody!
Today is awesome as components are going to start arriving for my first computer ever!
1. 8350
2. Msi gd65 990fx
3. nzxt kraken x40
4.corsair vengense 1600 8gb single module (2nd question about this) CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600...
5. sentey optimus 6000 (4 fans.3 led x2 120mm x1 140mm x1 180mm)
6 7950 saphire
7. kingston heyper x 3k
8. XFX pro core edition 550 watts (1st question about this)
XFX Core Edition PRO550W (P1-550S-XXB9) 550W ATX12...
The first question is in regards to the power supply. Will it be enough given the liquid cooler and case fans, on top of the 8350 and 7950? The wattage calculators online all say yes, but reading reviews about the cpu and gpu, I see on some charts that they both can consume a combined 500 watts just those 2! I figured the 8350 was 125w and the 7950 was 180w like their specification sheets display, so going by that, I ordered my build. Please help clairify.
Question number 2 is about the ram. It's 1 8gb module. From all the research I've done and from what everyone says, dual channel is better than single channel though I've not been able to find a review about a single 8gb module performance (though there are reviews testing single, dual, tri, and quad.) I don't think win7 and games will use more than 8gb but as it's single channel, what kind of effect will it have on performance?
I got the ram free with the mobo from newegg otherwise I would've for sure gone with 2x4 or 2x8.
I'm really on a budget as I've saved for 9 months of working to build a pc that will last me.... well a long time. This is my first computer though I've wanted since 12 (now 27). I really need to know about how these two things will affect my system. Thank you so much!!!!!
