Hello all,

I did not find anywhere a bios for my card (I found only DDR bioses but not DDR2 bioses for my card), not even in the techpowerup ATI Bios section.

My video card specifications are:

Sapphire 9600XT 256MB DDR2

GPU Clock=500MHz,
Memory Clock=300MHz (efective 600MHz) - 128bit
Memory chip = Eldipa DDR2 667MHz 5-5-5 (3.0ns)
RAMDAC Clock=400MHz
OVERDRIVE=ON

Please I need some help.

I tried Frogger but for nothing, Sapphire does not provide any bios for Radeon 9600 series and not even for Radeon 9600 PRO.

I searched all over the net including radeon2.ru but still nothing.

Thanks you for trying to help me m8te.

I even wrote to saphire support and to ATI support.
Sapphire support did not respond to me yet (it's been 3 days now)
And from ATI support I'am still waiting for 2 days now but nothing yet.

I saw on the net that this release from Saphire for 9600XT with DDR2 is from 2005 (my original bios was from november 2006).

So I think if the card was released in 2005 (I mean this version with DDR2) sure there is somebody out there that has a bios for it.

Thanks again and I'm still waiting for a bios for my card.

Respect,
Johnny

these seem to be there...
Winflash Apr 3rd, 2006 1.77 191.9KB

1024-HC19-4C-SA Aug 23rd, 2006 113-PC1930-10 & -18 67.8KB
but it would be helpfull to see what bios is on the card now can you post

I looked at them with RaBiT and are for 9600XT with DDR not for 9600XT with DDR2

The PN doen not much either my PN is: 87-5C83-01-SA
PCB: SKU# 11029-21

and my bios (that is the original one of the card) is: 113-PC8300-06g

Thanks anyway :)

..still searching

Just curious as to what you nned the new bios for ie what do you want it to do? if you still have the old bios mabe you can mod it to perform to your needs,,

I want to do the LM63 mod and that is why I need a bios with the OVERDRIVE feature enebled for my card (DDR2 release).

I gathered al the info and the electronic parts I need (done some own technical research) and now I need only the bios to get started with the mod.

Anyway I think OVERDRIVE feature from ATI suck (regarding the OC done by OVERDRIVE) but I need the temperature monitoring features that OVERDRIVE assures.

My PCB layout it is different from all other 9600XT PCBs. It is more similar with the 9800PCB.
Anyway If I succed I will write a "How to do it" guide for this cause I'll be the first to do it on the 256 DDR2 memory version. :D

Dude: that seems like a lot of work just to monitor the temp on an outdated card ,iassume you are just doing it for the fun :) when you could fust put a temp probe on the gpu..
it is most likly you will not find a bios for that card that will do what you need.. due to age of card ...will prob have to write your own bios sorry

Well I didnt had enough money to get a high end card :(

Anyway the idea is to overclock it but for a good overclock I need the temp readings.

I see the card on many online stores (in the eastern europe) so I guess it's just a matter of time until I'll get a bios for it.

I'am digging also in something (saw in the Rabit version history that they disabled memory bus editing (SDR, DDR, DDR2) because they say the memory bus will be anyway overwrited by the ROM BIOS after the flashing process). Also I think I have some PCI graphic card just in case :D.

Thanks anyway :)

Well, tryed some bios for the DDR version (moded first the memory timing for my card specifications with rabit) with rambios (test only, not flash) and it didnt work.

So apparently a DDR version bios will not work on a DDR2 based card (note for other users - do not try, it will not work).

So for the moment i'll chill out for a while until i get a DDR2 bios for my card.

I want to do the LM63 mod. I have the cip , all the other caps figured out (just waiting a friend to bring me the caps),all the docs, I understood the whole process but I dont have the bios with OVERDRIVE for my DDR2 card. It took me some weeks to document myself.

Anyway I'm sure I'll get a bios in a month.

And to get a good and stable overcloking you got to know the temp readings, and the RV360 does the temp reading with the on die diode.

And after that maybe I'll do a Volt Mod for GPU. Regarding the Volt Mod for the mem, it will require other documentation process cause the DDR2 has different (lower - 1.8V) voltage than the DDR.

will be watching for yopur updates good luck
ps when you get the bios can you upload to this thread so that i can have a look at it with rabit

up..

The AMD-ATI support replied to me today

"We have responded to your issue.
Solution: we do not provide BIOS files"

Yup, they sure provided me the solution.
Their support sure sucks.

Anyway still searching.
