Lets start right away.

One of my Game Boy Color doesn't work. I have tried what I could but it just doesn't work.

I have tried powering it with an adapter too but no luck.

I am not that good in detecting flaws so that is why, I need some serious help.

I know one of the electricians great friend is a multimeter!.

I am armed with a digital multimeter, and know how to use it. A little bit at least!.

What have I done till yet:

1: Check the on/off button with the meter on continuity check. Passed.

You'll just have to go on trial and improvement.

visually check all the capacitors for leaks, splits and any bulges. You may also have a capacitor checker on your multimeter (not all have this option).

You can use your multimeter to check the resistances of all the resistors. You connect the multimeter either side of the resistor and it should show a resistance in Ohms.

I would concentrate on the power side of the pcb with most of your testing. The later generation of GBCA have an inbuilt battery that can die, and likewise the wrong adapter could have blown resistors caps or a fuse on the pcb.

If you can't find the fault there I would suggest just buying a new console. They tend to be very cheap second hand and you can always use your old GBC outer so the console feels the same.

It wasn't working on batteries so tried an adapter. Didn't work on that either. Adapter is GB compatible. 3v/200ma.

Trial?. I have a lot of time (if natural life permits :D) and patience. No problem checking everything!. :)

It is GBC or as I said Game Boy Color (Colour in UK ). Not advanced or SP (had and used both of them). Only SP, AFAIK has built-in battery.

Please check this wiki link and guide me if you can.

Some led is supposed to come on when it's charging I take it? Does that light up? Make sure the charger/adapter is working properly, then I'd start with checking that connector for damage or shorts or something. After that and checking everything for visibible damage... Hard to tell. One of the chips might have died.

Yes. A small red led lights up when turned on. Not happening.

I have looked at the whole thing really carefully but didn't find anything visibly burned.

I don't have advice, but shouldn't this be in the Electronics section?

i have an old gbc in its box somewhere and they were designed to use two AA batteries. can you post a picture of the battery area of your GBC?

PS:
Read that post wrong but still check the battery connectors. I once got a free ti85 because it would not power on, after extending the battery connectors it worked great.
