NEED HELP! New ssd works but causes my pc to blue screen.

So, i got a brand new Samsung 870 EVQ 1b for my pc which now is combined with my SN750 500gb.
However ever since i plugged it into my pc i've always been having blue screens with the error code being
"DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION". I tried to google the issue but i'm not really an expert or somewhat good at this so i have no idea how to fix it.
It crashes at least once a day. I have no idea if the ssd is incorrectly configured.

CPU: i5-10400F
GPU: RTX 2060 FE
16GB RAM 3200MHz clocked at 2666

Funny watchdog violation is usually low power to the cpu :/

I'd check all power connections to the board/ psu/ gpu by disconnecting and reconnecting.

On another note 870 evo are mostly defective been lots of bad ones reported.

Just run a full scan in Samsung Magician, it should uncover any new bad sectors. Ah, Magician can't see the drive over USB, and that's the only way I have to connect it now that it's been replaced. But I know it said 0 when I initially got it, so it increased from 0 to 1. That's an infinity...

You are thinking of Clock_Watchdog_Timeout which is a different watchdog

As for OP, DPC_Watchdog seems to be mostly related to driver issues.
I believe Samsung has Samsung Magician to manage drivers and firmware for its ssd. Have you tried installing that?

You shouldn't require magician for stability, only drive monitoring and firmware updates. To me its sounding like the SSD is at fault and should be Replaced

What happens if you remove the new drive?
If the problem disappears, then just get rid of the Samsung drive. Either RMA it or ask for your money and buy another brand SSD.

Get Magician and check if there are issues with the SSD's configuration, however things might not end there. This issue sounds a bit too vogue as some settings from BIOS to other things might have caused it.

An SSD is always plug-and-play, no specific action or BIOS settings to be changed are needed. It must work automatically. If it doesn't, there is a hardware failure somewhere.

Incorrect, messy bus / link speeds for example can screw up an SSD. Having correct drivers / right block size can also help. Don't assume the SSD has failed when the OP claimed they don't know what they're doing.

There might be something wrong in this setup, and I really don't get why it's so hard to download Magician and simply display the status of the drive, either. In fact, I'm putting up the link to it just to make it more simple...

I have not tried it yet but i will and let you know how it goes.

Removing the old drive may be very simple and all but the thing is i still paid 100 bucks for it and i cba go and buy a new one. It gave me a blue screen the day after i got it and has been ever since.

My friends 870 Qvo works perfectly fine and what "list" are you talking about? Only thing that ive been told to do is research it via microsoft and use magician which I have done.

My friend has it and it works is not a good enough acceptance, you're clearly not doing your research and buying stuff because it's Samsung. But anyway, run a disk check on it. Yeah I completely get what you're saying but the thing is, when I search for samsung 870 qvo reviews on google I'm literally just met with good reviews and people telling me how it's good, even when i search for the negative kind of reviews i still find myself among the good ones and no bad review really mentions the problem that I'm having, and to add on, reviews on youtube are mainly just positive ones too, there isn't really a negative one. The 870 QVO Is also one of the most expensive SSD's in Samsungs SATA SSD lineup . Thank you for your reply, will try to clear the cmos.

You're looking at the wrong places, those gamer site reviews and Amazon reviews mean little to nothing, to be honest. Besides, price doesn't equal to decency. Samsung is known to overprice large time.
