Recently i have been trying to undervolt my i5 9300h Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52 2019 because of the constant 92-93C while using a laptop cooler below it.
Using a tad bit of research and youtube videos I was able to land on some setting but it hasnt been that effective. Good thing to note is that this laptop comes undervolted to -125mV from the box.
These logs ( https://pastebin.com/Dzp5DyFX ) are of me loading up and playing God of War in High-Ultra Setting and geting approx 70 fps constant but in the expense of the cpu being at 90C (Atleast that is what HWinfo64 and STSS say).
While playing my cpu core and cache were undervolted to -190mV but just after exiting the game i got a BSOD (WHEA uncorrectable error) and decided to reduce that to -175mV (as shown in the photos attached) while keeping all other setting unchanged.
Is there any way i can improve these temps without delving into the hardware side of things ? (I am planning to reapply some thermal paste but am wondering can i improve the throttling without it ?)
Below attached photos are of the laptop idling at around 40C with nothing (not even steam) running in the background.
Without PL1 and PL2 the temps in any game were constantly at 92C while the gpu never went above 80C ever.

Please do help.

In the Options window I would set PROCHOT Offset to 0. This will allow your CPU to begin thermal throttling at 100°C which is the Intel recommended value. When a CPU starts thermal throttling at 90°C instead of 100°C, you can lose a lot of performance.

the temps in any game were constantly at 92C
Your CPU is constantly thermal throttling. Hard to get consistent performance when that is happening. No more living in denial. Your laptop is overdue for a thorough cleaning. Time to blow out the dust bunnies. Order some Honeywell PTM 7950 while you are at it.

Your undervolt is on the excessive side. Try running the TS Bench 960M test. If the TS Bench test reports any errors then you are likely slowly corrupting Windows or other files on your computer because the CPU voltage is too low.

The 960M test ran without any issues at -175mV but with PL2 red temps reached 91C and with PL1 red temps were around 80C.
Should I still go back to the factory -125mV ?

I am planning to clean the swamp gooch and switch the thermal paste in a few days but PTM7950 is not readily available where I live, is Cooler Master cryofuze violet a viable choice ?

P.S I tried running ts bench 960M with PL1 and PL2 set at factory values of 45W and 56W respectively. The cpu instantly jumps to 100C and stays there for the entirety of the 3 mins the test is runnning

I have never tried that. Keep a close eye on temps immediately after you apply it and watch for increases as the days and weeks go on. The big problem is that a lot of pastes do not last long when applied to mobile CPUs. Order some PTM 7950 as a backup plan.

Way too many laptops have inadequate cooling even when they are clean, clean, clean and the paste is perfect. Manufacturers seem to have concluded that how a laptop looks is more important than how well the cooling works.

For recent laptops, the cooling in the Lenovo Legion series seems to be outperforming many of their competition. Some buyers are slowly waking up. Better than average cooling will result in better than average performance. It has become next to impossible to keep Intel's latest 13th and 14th Gen HX ovens at a reasonable temperature.
