Need info on rendering performance from Maxwell and Pascal Quadro GPU vs GeForce GPU

Benchmark Scores i've got a shitload of them in 15 years of TPU membership
Any rendering benchmarks comparing Maxwell based mid range Quadro cards, Pascal based mid range Quadro cards vs. current GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti would be very appreciated.

Hard to find good content, benchmarks where different generations of cards, gaming and workstation would be compared in workstation specific tasks. For instance, could a second hand, used Maxwell based Quadro M2000 or Quadro M4000 video card beat a Pascal based GTX1080 in rendering tests? Because from what i saw, GTX1080 wipes the floor with Kepler based K5000 and K6000 cards in quite many workstation tasks!

Note that this is just one site, but from what this site says, the 1080 offers a decent bump in rendering compared to the top end M6000, note I am not 100% sure about this site, so take it with a grain of salt that these results may not be accurate. This site says the 980ti offers more texture mapping units/render pipes than the M4000, so I would expect the 1080 to have a decent boost in performance over it, but with a tiny bump in tdp.

Keep in mind the last review i did was an AMD W5000 (7770 based) vs a 7970 depending on the professional workload 3DSmax / Maya / Catia etc the W5000 was 100-315% faster with only 1 test showing a -18% slower than a 7970.

In gaming the 7970 is more than double the performance but in professional workloads the Pro cards are quite a bit faster in select circumstances. But it all comes down to software used more than anything else.

Certain functions and generally performance on a Quadro card depending on workload will be quite a bit faster. However if your just doing regular hobby stuff / simple things at home a regular geforce will suffice (I use Autodesk Maya / Mudbox etc) A geforce GPU does just fine for lightweight work but generally a mid range quadro will beat my 1080Ti.

I don't know about Quadro or Firepro being more performance. Unless something has changed lately. The few videographer's i know goes with Nvidia GTX. What Quadro or Firepro bring is accuracy not speed

Videographers sure, However I can attest, AMD and NVIDIA regularly drop the ball on consumer drivers for Pro software. Radeon HD4000 - 7000 series through every version of Autodesk Maya 7-8-8.5-2009-2010-2012 etc doing any UV Unwrapping was essentially impossible with massive lag spikes and problems. Even an Intel IGP offered better results It took AMD years to fix it. Nvidia cards work okay but generally when pushing production level workflows with lights and extra features the Quadros do better since well both companies sandbag the consumer GPUs. But yeah its very application specific. In many circumstances a general consumer GPU will do just fine.

In some tests Quadro offers double the performance in others the difference is so large that the Geforce doesn't even show up as a viable option. But without proper understanding of the software the OP plans to use this is all conjecture anyway.
