Hello, I'm having trouble finding the KVM switch I need.

I have a keyboard that uses two USB slots, plus a USB mouse, and I'm attaching two monitors (nothing special, just normal backlit led 23 inch monitors).

I'm not set on how the monitors are connected, anything except VGA will do since I see flicker on VGA, but HDMI is preferred since that's the port they have on them already and I own the cables already.
Also doesn't need to be USB 3.0, 2.0 would work fine.

I'd like to make it so I can switch all the peripherals from one machine to the other using a switch. Does anyone make something that will do this? Links appreciated.

How about DisplayPort?

KVMs that switch more than one video signal are pretty rare. Even with DisplayPort got to be careful with MST support.

My KVM does what you ask but it's DVI + VGA instead of HDMI.

I'd recommend looking around here (quality KVMs and cables):

This could probably do what you're asking for but you'd need DVI to HDMI cables:

Bare in mind that my mouse doesn't work in the mouse port. I have it plugged into the 2-port USB switching hub. I haven't tested this but theoretically you could plug a USB hub into the two USB ports and it should switch all connected devices.

The USB hub can be forced to specific computers via software that runs in the system tray. There's also a key combination to force a switch (might be scroll lock + scroll lock + F1 or F2 but don't quote me on that...don't use that feature)

You're probably not going to be able to find a KVM switch that does more than 1920x1200. If one exists, it's probably DisplayPort.

My monitors have VGA (which I don't like) and HDMI connections in the back. How well do DisplayPort to HDMI and DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter cords work? I'd be adding a lot of adapters inline to get this all set up, will it be a handicap? I hate to introduce so many opportunities for RF interference and data loss.

I could live with DVI-D + VGA, it's just that I see flicker on the VGA monitor channel with these old monitors, and since I'm shelling out what appears to be around $300 for this solution, I'd like it to produce a good quality end result.

Thanks for the link!

I could remote connect, but I really prefer a switch, it'd be a much simpler solution as I've not ironed out all the kinks in my network just yet. I sentimentally prefer a hardware solution when it's an option I suppose.

I connected 5 comps via a 4 port kvm '+' a 2 port kvm plugged into one of the '4 port's' plugs using the vga conns. I plugged comps to various other monitors via dvi and/or hdmi. My desk looks like a spilled can of worms (maybe 3 or 4 cans of worms) but does work. The comps are remotely (sorta) located, so I have remote switches on my desk to power them on (& off).
