Easiest pick: Unreal Tournament 2004! Great electronic music and you can mod without the need for mods! Adjust the game speed, bot intelligence, bot numbers, etc and plenty of play mods. You can probably play it on a Pentium 2 and it's one of those older games that has aged gracefully. Vehicals, did I mention vehicles? I highly recommend tweaking the game and turning things on like quad jump, tons of fun! I'm sure there are mods out there too though I spend most of my time working.

Pentium II? No way. Something like a 1.3GHz Athlon XP/Pentium III Tualatin is something I'd call as a minimum for a playable frame rate.

My bad, I should have looked up the specs though I'm still sure it'll play on the OP's laptop. A dual-core Celeron from a few years ago should still be able to rock a game from 2004 and Hyperthreading was new back then (circa 2002). A friend really wanted to play the first Unreal Tournament though it's bland though I'm sure the required specs are even milder.

Also, won't Doom run on something as low like a 486? If an option avoid "Terry WADs" if you just want to play Doom.

The original Unreal Tournament is still the best IMO.
