Ok so my Crucial Ballistix Tracers have crapped out on me. I ran Memtest and they don't even pass the second test, which explains all the BSOD's I have been getting trying to install Vista.

I would like some good fast RAM with reasonably low timings for its speed(I'm no expert), that will last me more than two months lol.

So here is what I'm looking at...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227267

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145177

If yall have any other suggestions please let me know, it could be 2x1GB or 2x2GB with reasonble prices(not like $200 for 1GB of RAM lol).

Thanks for your time:)

Any reason to not get another 2GB kit of tracers...then RMA yours , as they are lifetime warranty. then ending with if needed 4GB of tracers????

@ Dom...look in his specs...1000MHZ @3-3-3-????? seems I know why it popped...lol

I would definately go with choice #1. With those heatsinks you've got some voltage headroom, 4-4-4-15 is great for a 2x2GB set running at DDR2 800... yeah do it.

Ok everyone thanks for the replys.

I wasn't even aware I could RMA them, for I have never had to RMA a prodcut before. Anyone care to share with me how the process is done?

Oh also what words of catution would you tell me so I don't mess them up again lol.

I bought them from Newegg.

I would run them on one Profile at like 1000Mhz then on another profile at 3-3-3-10 and then once I got them to 1200Mhz but it wouldn't last long in windows and most of the time they were on 2.5 Volts and I bought them some where in December of 07.

 2.5v that killed them

cuz run them at 4-4-4-12 or 5-5-5-15 you'll get more Mhz like that over cas3 cuz the lower the cas the more volts it needs to get more Mhz so try to stay at stock 2.2v and cas5 you'll get better oc

and are both sticks dead or only one ?

ok thanks and I am pretty sure both are dead, but I am not 100 Percent sure.

When I ran MEMtest(which it was my first time running MEMtest)it just halted at 17 Percent of the second test so I knew the RAM was bad. I also ran it on another computer(MEMtest that is) to see if it works right and it passed all the other tests so yeah. Can I still RMA them and if so, how?
