Hey. I am wondering what some good PC games are (Assassin's Creed 2 came out last night on every system except PC, so I need something to last me till March 2010 :/ since I am strictly a PC gamer). I like FPS, Action, and a few others, but not so much RPG. Any suggestions on what I should be looking at? I will post my current list later (don't have time right now). Thanks.

i myself just played crysis and am about to startwarhead, picked it up on steam's weekend $15/$15 deal. i loved the SP, so if you haven't played through it and you like intense tactical FPS's then i'd highly recommend it. i'm not sure why so many peaople have dogged on crysis so much for being just graphics...

I just finished Ghostbusters last week and I have to say that was one of the best SP games I've played in awhile...hell, it made me watch Ghostbusters 1 & 2 again:laugh: I've also ended my boycott on Batman Arkham Asylum and so far I like it.

I recommend Resident Evil 5. If you were into rpg &sports, NBA 2k10 or Dragon Age as well.

What about Prototype? It's an excellent Action/FPS game. It's as fast paced as you want it.
Or you could go with Wolfenstien, another good shooter.

Personally I would suggest giving Borderlands a try. It's a FPS but with a touch of RPG. great game imo.

resident evil 5, borderlands

those two amused me for quite some time

+1 for Borderlands, very immerse Single player campaign.

It ll engage you for quite some time.

Fallout 3 if you go for the side quests 1st as it will make the game much longer.

Older games

Max Payne
Deus Ex
Hitman

I have well over 300 hours of gameplay invested in Team Fortress 2. It's a great game.

A good collection of games is The Orange Box, which includes Team Fortress 2, Portal, and all 3 current Half-life 2 games for $29.99. Pretty much every Valve game is awesome.

+1 Borderlands
+1 The Orange Box
+1 Crysis+WH

i'm not sure why so many peaople have dogged on crysis so much for being just graphics...

Over the time I came to think it's because they upgraded just to play that game or bought the 8800/2900 series when the cards were launched in anticipation for the game and the game didn't match the ultra high expectations they had. No game matches its hype but, having upgraded just for that game made many people feel unconfortable, specially since the game could't be played at the maximum detail on same settings as they could play the (crappy IMO) console ports.

because the game was hyped to have so much more, and upon release everything but the graphics got removed.

The best kind of replay value you will find, will be in an online game. That being said, I recommend Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and Left 4 Dead 2.

Not true imo. The games with the most replay value I've seen so far are Deus Ex, the old RPG's (Fallout 1/2, Arcanum etc) and Heroes 3.

I just got Left 4 Dead 2, but can't get CoD MW2 right now (costs too much for me atm). I also really enjoyed the Halo series... Are there any games that are kind of like that (futuristic FPS or something). Thanks for the replies.

?
IMO, the 1500+ hours i spent on wc3 so far trumps any 10 single player games most have played.
To clarify, multiplayer games have the potential for unlimited gameplay.
(actually, that is probably more like 5000 hours +, and it isnt including the time sitting in the lobby, or watching other peoples games, etc...)

I agree, I must have as many hours on CSS + just another 5000 h in previous CS versions*. Despite that I find a lot of value on good SP games, somehow I feel they are like a better experience. MP games are like everyday food and SP just feel like Christmas Dinner. I think we all gamers agree to this or we would never play SP. I consider a fail and a "scam" any SP that doesn't last at least 5 hours though.

*I have enjoyed comparable hours a day playing X3:Reunion and Terran Conflict too, albeit during a shorter period of time. Still many many hours, so I quess I have to agree with both. :toast:

EDIT: And that ^^ being said, if there was a MP X game, I would be lost, I would litterally have no life outside of the X universe. If you have heard they are doing a MP X game, JUST DON?T TELL ME!!! j/k

You play wc3??? Really? I'd have never guessed that, seriously. Hehe.

Go for Wolfenstein. The single player is phenomenal, although the multiplayer is dooty.

The singleplayer was freaking great. Seriously.

Just to be sure, we are talking about the last Wolfenstein right?

So when starts being good? I've played 2-3 hours and it's been boring for me, with no really compelling things happening, can't continue. It's horrible IMO. Oh and I have Borderlands...

To each his own, I guess.
