Hey TPUers,
I got this weird issue which is driving me up the wall... I recently purchased a OCZ Vertex 2 120GB SSD and I installed Windows 7 on it, all went as planned.
Now the fun part starts, I let Windows do its rating thingee and it comes up with a 5.9 due to my storage device, I was like wtf... my mate has the exact same SSD and he gets a 7.7. Did some research and found out that, even though Windows is on the SSD, another (Seagate 1TB HDD) is needed to boot succesfully.
In the bios HDD priority this HDD (Codenamed as ST3100...something) comes up first, if I dare change it into my Vertex and reboot it says "No boot found", odd since the entire installation is on there... when I change it back to the Seagate it just boots fine.
Another odd thing is, I get the read/write performance of the SDD and everything is super fast, even more proof it IS booting from it. Still, I want my BIOS to boot from it aswell and my computer to get the rating it deserves, argh!
Hope you people can help and my English was understandable. This is really making me nuts...
