So yeah system details are as follows:
AMD Ryzen 1300X CPU , GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 MB, 8Gb (one stick) DDR4 Viper ram, HD5870 Video card.
I know my video card is out of date for this system and could use some advice on a card that would be more beneficial to this MB or should I just stick with the current one? I'm not sure , would I see any real improvement in video quality?

You want to update that card. What's your budget, where you buy from and monitor resolution. And what power supply?

For gaming?

That's very vague , no one can answer that , describe in more detail what you use your PC for.

I'm not sure , would I see any real improvement in video quality?

Improvement in video quality ? As in what ?

Wow not sure all my stuff is 1080p so I guess 1080p?
My budget is the boards limit, Like nothing more than the MB can actually handle. My PSU is an old TX850 from OCZ still working strong!
Some light gaming but more for future games because all mine are from the stone age now.

I would recommend if the video card still functions ,you wait until the market gets better. The chances are almost 100% that you're going to pay 2 to 3 times what a video card is actually worth, due to "reasons".

inevitably the market will go back to the way it should be ,at which point anyone that has made a purchase in the last few months is going to be kicking themselves, because if they use it for gaming they spent Up to $500 They didn't need to , if they just waited.

Sounds like a plan I have seen prices going sky high as of late. Computers are very expensive now more so than 10 years ago.

Every thing from that to doing lite video work.

Don't get me wrong the HD5870 card is doing great but I want to be sure it will be enough for games say 3 years from now. as it is LONG in tooth now I am not sure this will be the case say in 6 months when I start to get some new games.

I would say a GTX 1060 or 1070. You would be good for anything you want to play

it's the only feasible path ,unless you either are earning money with the video card, or you have earned income from other video cards ,and need a certain size farm for a sustainable income. If you're doing anything less than earning money with that video card ,and can add projected earnings onto the cost (to make it worth your while) it just isn't feasible ,unless you have expendable income which may very well be the case,as I don't know. But short of you having money to burn, waiting is the only option or a great deal on a used model

Yeah no I don't make money off the computer lol ell I don't even have a JOB LOL!

So do you think this is a good score for this setup? or is this video card lagging?

LOL!! Yes I sure do I have been dormant for awhile now.
What do we use now? Oh and HOLY MY RACK! WTH is going on with video cards? There more than this entire setup cost! Jess are they that strapped for cash? Yeah I think I will wait for prices to come down to a reality level! WOW Over 500 bucks just for a nice card? I mean I can really rant about this I am rich yes but come the f on! I do not !! DO NOT want to go back to work just to support the computer industry!
Holy cap I just realized I haven't built a new system since 2008! I still have the Q9650 and MB!

Yeah, and I'm still plugging away with my i5-2500K with a GTX 580. I don't game anymore, so it's irrelevant...lol.
The core i5 is still way more viable than my Q9650 meaning I think it BLOWS it out of the water! Oh and don't they still make the core i5? They do not make the Q9XXX line any more at all. dead tech.

Core2 Quad wasn't really true quad core, anyway...it was dual "sandwiched" dual cores. AMD had the distinction of developing the first real quad, and was known as the "Quad Father" back then.

Yeah I know. LOL.
I am so happy to be back with the green team I really missed AMD.
Looking for and hopping to get an AMD FX CPU and install it on my MSI AM3+ MB.
