Facts:
1. I have a dell 8400 (Yeah I know) 3.0Ghz, 1GB DDR2 533, X300SE, 160GB HD, 350W PSU
2. I bought a X800GTO2 and unlocked it in my dell
3. I was installing this when it happened http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/active.htm(Well the install shield was at 99%)
4. The screen went blank
5. Power comes on now but nothing happens the Monitor (Well if I leave it alone for a while or reseat anything in the comp it gets to the windows log-on screen, but the screen goes blank after a second)
6. Called dell they said it was my PSU

Questions/Speculation:
1. I heard Dell stopped using proprietary PSU's in 2002(Can anyone confirm this), if so can I get any ATX PSU and slap it in there?
2. If not I may have to get a new mobo,PSU, and case
3. Is it really my PSU?

Feel free to post your thoughts or questions

Thanks

the new vid cards take alot of power to run, if you have another pc try it in there, but i pretty sure you power supply is at its limit.i have a nvidia 6600 gt pci-e and it recommends 350 watts MINIMUM
