before any1 asked about the sid its a long story!!!!

anyhelp would be nice cheers:toast:

are the cards and router different brans( i.e router being netgear card is dlink or linksys?

nope both netgear, my and my friends card are bith wg111t which came with teh router, however my other friend is directly connected to the router via lan and only has a 53mb internal card so we never get 108 the best we have had is 54 but, not for long it goes down to 2 or even 1mb even if the signal is 70percent?!

im having the same problem with my wireless connection right noe also.....needless to say i havent figured it out yet....you can try to change the wireless channel to make sure its not interfereing with other wireless devices

how do i do this?

We have a Netgrear wireless router and all our systems are connected to this WAN.
All our connectors are connecting at 108, except my server which is hard wired to the router. I get 100 speed.
The wifes, laptop and spare are all connecting via Netgear 108nic wireless cards.
When you purchased the components, did you specifically purchase the 108 wireless NIC cards?
They are different than the rest of the NIC cards in speed.
They have a different part #=WG311T is correct.

Wireless is easily unsettled by "competing" WLANs. Check to see if there are other WLAN's locally, by scanning. Unfortunately, some wireless networks are set to NOT broadcast their ID, so you cant see the network, but its still there causeing a conflict. Try another channel.

The second issue is interference from mobile phones and DECT phones. Move them out of the way and see if that helps.

tried installing netbios protocol ?that helped with an adhoc connection i had

Or it could me microwave or cordless phone interference. Just because you are "supposed" to connect to something at sed speed, doesnt mean you will. Its hard to connect at 54mbps and keep it constant. Also, anyone else around you (be it next door neighbor, apartment, etc) can cause interference. Id try adjusting some of the registry commands for routers and nics. Its worth a shot.
