Hi all
Seems along time since i posted on here.Well as the title states im building a new pc in april and started to do my homework early. This is what i've come up with :-

Asus P5N-D nf750i SLI 2.0 Mobo
Intel core 2 Duo E8400 (wolfsdale) 3.0G
4GB Corsair XMS2 (DHX) DDR2 800mhz Ram
680W Hiper Type R2 PSU (sli-crossfire ready)
1GB Powercolour HD3870X2 Graphics card
150GB Western digi Raptor X HD
Windows Vista Premium

All thoughts and pointers greatly appreciated, im not bothered about wifi on the mobo just a good overclocker.Erm also not bothered about quad core just yet and also gpu not fussy on ATI or Nvidia. So let me know if anybodys got any suggestions........Thanx and Regards................Webbo

I would go w/ a good p35 or x38 board, or depending on when your buying p45 or x48. Nvidia's chipsets don't seem to oc that well, and you could get a p35 for much cheaper. Your not using sli, so I see no reason to go w/ that. Everything else looks solid though.

Well, keep looking, there are a ton of p35 and x38s out there, and your bound to like a couple. Many of the later revisions support 45nm out of the box, a requirement for your set-up. If your planning on oc, they will work much better.

X48 and x38s a little bit out of my price range farlex as for ip35 now i've had this MSI k8n neo2 platinum for nearly 4 yours -o.c- on 24/7 and it's never missed a beat so u could say i swear by MSI and asus i've fit in afew builds for others ther seem good o.c's and stable.Gigabyte good value the 1's i've come across seemed not to be good o.c's-Abit come across afew seem to be (Abit) tight with onboard slots (ram dimms).U like how i put that lol.Oh good sometimes i frighten meself.Where was i -oh yer Asrock good value really. I do like the Asus P5K ip35 and the Gigabyte GA P35T DQ6 Ip35 looks a beast DDR3 that is though.MSI P35 diamond just out of price range i think.Budget gives me about £100 for mobo. Also it's that long since i built a machine and still being on AGP at the mo and totally not up on PCI-E-U have PCI-E and PCI-E 2.0- PCI-E 2.1 coming soon if i read correct! but also on the site i buy from PCI-E x4bandwidth does all of this affect the buy?

I don't know where you've read those reviews, but the Tuniq Tower is very good. The thermalright 120 is also good, but in some reviews, the 120 extreme did slightly worse than its predecessor. For price/performance the tuniq is a very good cooler, however, if you can sacrifice the space and extra $10-$20, then I'd definitely go for the Thermalright.

Instead of getting overly expensive Corsair memory, I'd suggest some other manufacturer like crucial, mushkin or gskill.
