Speaking of airflow, what case is being used?

in a situation like that you only need 1 case fan

I'm using a Corsair 4000D Airflow

The $55 Scythe Fuma 2 will outperform the flagship air coolers from Cryorig and Noctua as well as most 2 x 120 AIOs on the market.

There's a few here that can beat the Scythe temperature wise by 1 or 2 C that cost 3 times as much, but the noise penalty for getting that 2C is wow.

Corsair 100i pro for example is 1C cooler, but 2.5 times (13 dbA) louder.

Worth noting that the FUMA 2 lacks basically any headroom for higher heat loads due to the low-RPM Kaze Flex fans. For something like a 5600X it has solid value, but if it's the kind of thing you wanted to keep through multiple upgrade cycles, something like a fully-loaded 5800X, 5900X, 5950X, etc. will start to widen the gap between the FUMA 2 and other higher end air coolers or AIOs.

Did you apply new thermal paste or just installed the processor without it? I believe that's the reason of your overheating

The stock cpu cooler comes with pre applied thermal paste

that also comes with a clear plastic cover you need to take off before mounting the cooler.
I checked and this one doesn't come with a plastic cover. It only came witht he pre applied thermal paste.

You should probably follow that up with the fact that you apparently have issues with every AMD product (which for some reason you keep purchasing) and no issues with Nvidia / Intel

View attachment 193043

It doesn't make sense statistically or logically.

1) Why continue to buy products you don't like?
2) Either you are the most unlucky person on earth or are simply fabricating information in your posts. The fact that your conclusion is as hyperbolic as a 100% issue rate with AMD and a 0% with Nvidia or Intel smells beyond funny.
Where do you see a complaint?
i just said that i have the same temperatures.

In most games I’m getting between 70-87ºC. When I’m playing warzone I get to 90ºC+ with around 50% cpu utilization.

Your only option is to get a good aftermarket cooler like the Scythe Fuma 2. Your case is already good for airflow, assuming you have an optimal fan setup.

Only 2 case fans. 1 intake + 1 exhaust.
I cant say its optimal... plus the OP said that has high ambient.

Its all together (CPU cooler, case airflow, high ambient), resulting high CPU operating temp.

I actually just bought that one and 4 fans. I read some reviews and it looks very good.

Good move, but you probably don’t want or need six case fans, if that’s the route you’re going. What fans did you get?

My apologies, I was unclear — it definitely seems like you need them, and those are pretty decent fans. I just meant you’ll probably only need four fans total (3 intake, 1 exhaust) for optimal airflow, but extras don’t hurt if the temps are still high!

Oh no need to apologize. I wanted to fill the case with fans to get better performance. The 3 120 fans are going to go front for intake, the 140 is going to go back for outtake and the 2 fans that came with the case are going to go on top.

If I were you I’d try three front intake and one exhaust first. Honestly you could probably get away with two intakes. I would test and see what’s best.

Installing fans in the top of the chassis is often undesirable. Your case is better suited for it than most, but between the new CPU cooler, and the additional intake fans, you probably won’t need fans on top.

Having two top-front intakes may help things, but may also increase temps overall. With all of that positive pressure from the intakes the single exhaust may not be able to keep up, resulting in hot air recirculating in the chassis rather than being neatly exhausted from front to back, resulting in hotter components overall.

Having two top-rear exhausts might help your CPU, but might increase GPU temps, as cool air is pulled up and away from the GPU, towards the exhaust, due to the negative pressure.

This is what I meant when I said you may not want or need that many fans — it can be hard to find a balance ;)

this is false. Fan configuration depends on the path of least resistance and since heat ( hot air for you sticklers) rises, top mount exhaust fans are actually desirable for balance. A bottom mount fan does help GPU temps but not as mush as high airflow will.

I've had a top-exhaust setup for this exact reason and it makes all the difference. It completely exhausts the big pocket of warm air that stagnates in the top of the case and allows everything to breathe cool air. Plus you can run the fans at very low speeds because you're not working against the natural upward draft of the warm air.

EDIT: There's a good reason why cooling towers look like this....

My front to rear airflow path works just fine, and the huge NH-D15S fan helps with the airflow as well. Only reason why I avoid top fans is because I placed an insulated top on the case and I'd prefer more silence. Temps are great as is, neither CPU or GPU go past 65C in the most demanding games.

I never suggested mounting fans on the bottom (the 4000D airflow doesn’t even support this configuration)

It’s true that heat rises when there’s no resistance, ie when you’re cooling with natural convection/passively, but that’s not how an enclosed space full of resistance works.

In a space with forced airflow, heat goes where you tell it. If heat is rising it’s because you don’t have enough airflow to exhaust it.

Real world tests, including FLIR:

The one and only Mike Chin:

I guess Corsair has an opinion if anyone cares:

I've had a top-exhaust setup for this exact reason and it makes all the difference. It completely exhausts the big pocket of warm air that stagnates in the top of the case and allows everything to breathe cool air. Plus you can run the fans at very low speeds because you're not working against the natural upward draft of the warm air.
Like I said, it may help, but it depends on the chassis, components, and cooling setup. That was the paragraph about GPU temps.

If you’re still using that Antec Three Hundred, then it makes a lot of sense that two exhaust would help — that case is anemic/a heat trap (I built three systems in one). The 4000D and most contemporary “airflow” cases don’t have this problem at all.
EDIT: There's a good reason why cooling towers look like this....

This is not a great analogy because the design is based on natural convection which, as demonstrated by Puget Systems, is not how computer cases work, even if they are designed for natural convection (like the FT02). Forced draft towers are more analogous to computer cases than natural draft towers.

Works for data centers and HPCs, too ;)
