Hi Everyone,
It's time to build a new gaming rig. Below is a list of the parts I have picked to build, but undecided between two mother Boards.

Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO MoBo
Intel Core i7-4790K CPU
Corsair H100i GTX Liquid Cooler
Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8) DDR3-1866 Memory
Samsung 850 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" SSD
Western Digital Black Series 1TB 7200RPM 3.5"Hard drive
Evga Super Nova 750G2 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fuy-Modular ATX Power Supply
Evga GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Superclocked + ACX 2.0 + Backing Plate GPU
Corsair 760T White ATX Full Tower
Corsair Link Lighting Node
Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

The other MoBo I was considering was the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gamimg GT. I need something that is somewhat user friendly for overclocking.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :)

If you are going to overclock, you will need the "K" version of the CPU.
Aside from that I believe the Asus Motherboard to be better out of those two selected.

Thanks caring1,
I just forgot the K. As for the mobo, that is the one I believe I will go with. Someone told me that the board was flimsy and they are getting bent pins on it. I have not read anything on those two issues myself, only good stuff.

Anyway if I do not hear fro anyone else than It will be a go.

That's a nice setup, the only thing that I would change is the Samsung 850 Pro for a Samsung 840 Pro or Evo.
Nothing else to add:p

There is not that much difference talking about performance, and at least here in Germany the 840 EVO would cost 40 euro less than the 850 Pro.

Because otherwise you would be paying a premium for next to nothing in return. The 840 Pro is already amazing, they just innovated the 850 series with 3D NAND which they say increased the performance, but SATA 6GB/s has already been pushed as far as it can go. As far as I know, the only thing that got better as a result is the endurance of the drive.

You can't go wrong with either motherboard , but having the gaming 7 and seeing the asus ranger i would say that the software is really better on the asus , hardware wise are the same almost(maybe a slight win to gigabyte). Also why get the 1tb western digital black ? you spend too much money on that without any reason , if it was your main drive then okay but you gonna buy a ssd too so i suggest if you need more storage pick 1tb western blue or go for the hitachi deskstar nas 3tb/4tb.
Also i think the h100i is overkill , that processor cant overclock well anyway so why spend 100+ on the cooler for .5ghz ?
Same for ssd , too expensive for just a slight increase in performance, save some money and get a crucial / ocz arc100
