I was wondering if there would be a difference to getting a microsoft technet subscription or to just purchase a retail upgrade of win 7 including the latest versions of office?

I am asking as this costs 199.00 vs close to same for Win 7 Ultimate? without including office.

Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this?

thanks

If you can get a technet subscription, get the subscription. Windows + Office retail will cost you more than the subscription.

Yup, get the sub, it's a no-brainer. You get thousands of pounds/dollars of software for the same price.

Just remember that the license granted with a TechNet subscription is for evaluation purposes only, and not for commerical use.
It is also non-transferrable, so you can't sell it to someone.
That being said, it's a fantastic deal.
