Hello,
I have a PC which I'm using for 3 years, and I want to upgrade some parts, but I'm not sure if I really could do that. So, I need your advice to decide. I created a thread on TechPowerUp Forums to get professional advice, they were pretty good and helped me a lot!
Now, I need your advice, again with my new build. Though, I'm not sure if I really need to build a new PC with new pieces of hardware. Because my current build seems good, except the RAMs. I'm not sure... Please help me!
First, I will share my first build, then it will follow pieces of hardware that I want to buy. After all of these, there will be a "noob" question, too.
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3600 MHz
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z97M-D3H
RAM: 10 GB (8+2 - Kingston)
Case: CORSAIR Carbide 400R MidT ATX
Power Supply: Corsair CX750 ATX 80PLUS (750W)
Graphic Card: GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G
Below, you can find the new build that I want to upgrade.
CPU: Intel Core i5 9600K Processor 3.70GHz 9MB Cache LGA1151 HD630
Motherboard: MSI MotherBoard Z390-A Pro Intel Z390 2133MHz DDR4 Socket 1151
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB(2x8GB) 2400MHz DDR4
Now, the noob question is here; I have Windows 10 Home Edition licence. If I change the motherboard or other key parts, will the licence be able to in use again?
Above all else, do I really need to change the parts? The reason that I'm changing is "chain". Yes, chain. Well, a socket of my current motherboard is not working. So, if I change a RAM, I need to find 16GB DDR3 RAM. I have 3 sockets working now. If I replace one with 16 GB RAM, it would be great. I think, Kingston HyperX Fury Red 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM could work, but is that enough?
Thanks,
