new psu max 150€

since i will be building a new rig when i get money the first i need advice on a new PSU

it cant cost no more than 150€ or 1000DKK

the reason for me needing your help is that there is so many new PSU's out there these days and its pretty damn confusing

it will be handling dual gtx-275s and a overclocked i7 920

modular is only a + but ill live with it if it isnt

just gimme your suggestion and ill see if any danish etailer has it, or anyone inside EU that ships to denmark

Doesn't get much better than that for quality. It's about even with the 850HX but 20€ cheaper.

i see the xfx has dual 8 pin mb connectors that is not modular, that is kinda bummer
allthough i kinda like the look of it and temps are simply just amazing,

i love the full modularity of the silverstone, and being able to do gold is just amazing, even if i really dont care too much about that haha and temps look very good on it too

yeah the temps in mine are barely warm when running benchies or gaming even F@H fails to heat it up beyond just warm then that probably the RV02 case with rear facing PSU vent it gets al the cold air it requires OH and its so damn quiet too

Don't think there's much left to add, the best options are already listed. Not really a huge amount of truly top tier psus in the reasonable price ranges. That's why the same ones get recommended over and over in these threads. Though if you like the look of the xfx I'd say it wouldn't hurt to pay a little more, cause I think it's also slightly better quality.

the reason for the 150€ mark is that i really dont know how much ill get the 1st,

but lets say i have enough to spend 200€ on the psu

what would you recommend then?

Well it's interesting. More money will get you more wattage, but not necessarily a better psu. For instance I'd pick a 850HX over the 1000HX any day. The 850 is just a better quality psu. Something else to note is going beyond your system's required wattage can hurt efficiency as some supplies are less efficient at lower loads (not all). I just checked jonnyguru reviews of supplies 1000w+ and in the past year or two didn't see any that scored 9.5-10 in performance save for the AX1200, which blows past the 200€ mark. So I'd save your money and not over do it.

the rig will probably never be at idle since it will be used for crunching and folding 24/7 when i dont play

so constant usage will be like 5-600w or so

is Corsair AX850 worth the extra cash over any of the others?

At that load the AX is about 2% more efficient than the HX... so not really worth it in my book. Pretty much all the recommendations are about 86% efficient at that load.
