I'm looking for an 'affordable' PSU to run an 8800GTX in my system. I came across this :
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817101021

I know to some it seems like a no-name brand, but I think it looks like something reliable. I haven't had any trouble with my current ePOWER PSU.

What do you guys think? I need to stay around that price. It's a better budget than my last one. ><

Old PSU's going into mom's rig, along with the X1800XT.

epower is not that bad. but with a single 8800gtx you dont need 550W. 450W is plenty if you dont plan future upgrades.

there is this one too: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151040
that is from a good brand, but reviews arent the best.

if you can spend 10$ more:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817163108

but, as i said, epower is not that bad, your choice is good

I kinda hoped on doing SLI with another 8800gtx at some point. I don't think the ePOWER is good enough.

Should've mentioned that. ><

If you SLI you will need I think at least 500-600 minimum.

Speaking of that.

I may be selling my Corsair HX620 to upgrade with my WC purchase.

PM if interested.

Sorry. I can't afford anything over 60ish before rebates after this purchase I'm making. I don't get a lot of hours during the winter.

What about the OCZ StealthXStream OCZ600SXS 600W ATX12V in the email promotion that ends tomorrow? It's $30 after rebate and promotion code.

I'll have the money in a couple weeks.

I should include more details in my OPs... ><

you'll have to change mobo and cpu too then. you wont benefit from an SLI setup with the stuff you have, exspecially the proc

@cdnbum88, where are you from? if you are from EU i might be interested in your HX620

I had the OCZ GameXStream PSU in my watercooled desktop build and I liked it a lot....Don't scrimp on the power supply though, cause a cheaper brand may not last as long or have the fault protection built into it like the better brands out there.

I would watch the upcomming holiday sales for a nice Corsair or OCZ/PC Power and Cooling 600W. The one cdnbum had would be great for your single 8800. If your adding a second I would look used for a 600-750W for under a $100 US.

This Rosewill 550W is SLI ready and under 60 w/free shipping:

BFG 550W SLI ready for under 60 wo/free shipping:

Try to check used first and then hold out for the Black Friday specials!
