New version of AMD dual core optimizer

Perhaps it's no more just dual-core optimizer, quad-core too :).

Is this the version that was realesed a few weeks ago..or is this a new version?

Wow. Never knew that existed. Will have to try it. :)

Says August 08. How long ago was the one you're talking about?

That's old news..like I said a few weeks ago.

It's not old news for the people that didn't know about it, even if it was out weeks ago...

Has anyone noticed any difference, I have yet to try this.

There seems to be a slight difference.
It's new for me and for quite a lot of people. The earlier version was like in september of 2007.

Any one find any difference?

I downloaded it over a week ago and to be honest I can't really notice any difference, but dont get me wrong, it might improve performnce a little, but I doubt it

It works, i tested out Supreme Commander, and both cores showed usage.. this is without running CoreMaxiumizer too!

wont even run for me, i double click and nothing  anyone using it with vista x64 ?

Yeap Vista Ultimate 64-bit, i ran it and it installed no problems...

well somthing aint right cause the download is 4mb and when its installed the program folder is only 101kb, do i need to have any other amd drivers installed beforehand ?
tried running as admin/xp sp2 compatibility and no go :twitch:

Installed fine, I'm on Vista x64. Tried redownloading? Install file is 4.9mb (unpacked)

yup redownloaded and reinstalled, that sux, btw can someone tell me what files/folders are ment to be in the program folder fot it ?

this program wont be needed on vista, as it was entirely designed to fix a but in XP's handling of AMD's dual core processors.

exactly what i was thinking i thought vista was already designed to work with multi core processors

fix a buG, BUG, damnit.

(i'd edit it, but someones already quoted it :P)

Oh, come on.

Dual core optimizer can't improve your performance.
It's merely a compatibility tool for synchronizing core timers (for legacy applications to run properly).
That's all it does.

Cheers,

And as already stated It Isn't required on Vista. :rockout:

This stops the "Clock Interrupt" BSOD I would get when overclocking my Phenom in Vista. Very much worth it, stabilized my CLock.

sigh.... well at least it does something.

why the hell do AMD need to get synched, but intel dont?

Could be something to do with them being "true dual and quad chips"
