Next-Generation Nintendo Switch SoC to be Powered by NVIDIA's Ada Lovelace GPU Architecture

And from what I can tell, the screen resolution on the existing Switch and what is rumored is the same, i.e. 720p. While it may gain more CPU and GPU power, going into portable mode also means that they need to balance performance vs power consumption. They may be able to achieve 720p@ 30FPS more stably than the current Switch which tend to drop to resolution to maintain 30 FPS.
That's the best approach, you give better cpu and gpu for actual games and the possibility of DLSS for those developers who care. I recently played Darksiders Genesis on Switch and it's the perfect example of a game whose developers don't care and still get something out of it, because it's a terrible port and fps tank on portable mode sometimes.

I don't understand the negativity towards this, is just better hardware for an existing platform, being better or not to gaming on android or whatever. Nintendo isn't going to release a XBOXsX/PS5 competitor, so this is a fine approach.

I actually kinda hope they do not add DLSS, because I got this feeling that it would end up not being an optional feature. And my experience with DLSS has been less than positive. In fact, it can be summed up in this little clip of a very nervous plant.

And I get very tired of watching things flicker so I had to turn DLSS off.
My Experience with DLSS has been overly positive. Free performance, same visuals as native, pretty much. Some things even look better than native.
I have yet to see any sort of ghosting when moving, like some people claim. And I'm highly sensitive to stuff like that. I need 120 fps minimum and uses 1440p/165Hz (soon 1440p/240Hz).

I have a feeling that some people are trying to spread missinformation about DLSS. DLSS is what made RTX worth it for me. Ray Tracing does not matter for me at all. I will never use it, unless fps hit is less than 10% maybe. Not even in single player games.

Can't wait to see how well FSR stacks up with DLSS when AMD releases their answer.

I read as much of that wiki as i could and i still dont get why we're discussing sex workers and being rude to women.

Can... we talk about 4K mario or something?

Perhaps you are not as sensitive to it as you imagine then, or are you saying my wonky plant is a figment of my imagination? I have not suffered ghosting in any larger degree myself. In this case Mechwarrior suffer from... i dont know what that is, nervous plant syndrome?
As it is now I can choose to use DLSS, in some games I do, in some games I don't. Though the actual result does vary quite a lot depending on game. In death stranding I was mostly annoyed because I was constantly noticing the artifices that DLSS produced, with textures at times looking weird or rogue pixelated areas. A minor issue, for sure. But for me, they stick out like a sore thumb. But in my case I can just turn DLSS off and keep playing. And thats the whole point if it, I have the option to use it or not. Because in some games, like mechwarrior, I do not want to play with the nervous plant syndrome the whole time, its annoying.
Something tells me that on consoles, I would not have that option to choose and I just have to hope and hold my thumbs they implemented it properly and from what I have seen, that is not always a given.

DLSS produces very impressive results overall though, I just want to have the choice for when I use it as things currently are since I have ran in to games where I most certainly do not want to use it.
