NFS Shift Patch 1.02 out!

Ok got it to work thanks to the help.

They at least got something right. The GT500 has the turning radius of half a mile.

lol. You may be able to adjsut this in the "custom settings"...something i changed seems to have made it worse, but now the turning radius is a literal dime.

Patch hasn't fixed everything yet for me....oh well, at least i have dragon age to keep me amused.

Im getting that game as im typing.

Go ahead and disable all the helpers such as the built in assists and you will have an uncontrollable ride! I tried with the demo and it made the game damn near unplayable (uncontrollable ride)...but when installing the full game and then when it came to the part where the game asked what I wanted to do with the assists I left everything at factory defaults ....This option is before your very first race and I don't think its in the tunning section of the menu.So with the factory assists I love the handling!

With the assists I had three track records under DRDNA333

I am not sure what you are talking about? The Supra runs fine for me. Since it's not "The Works" car I've not seen any issues. Have you uninstalled then cleaned out the registry of all need for speed related info then reinstalled the game using patch 1.02 only? If not give it a try.

The first thing I did while I was downloading the patch was to reinstall the game and deleted the remaining installed folder. didn't run a registry clean tho. I made a vid a few post above about the supra rpm bug.

Funny noone has mentioned anything about performance; but for me, this has done nothing. It still runs far worse than it should.

The renaming doeant seem to help single card dual GPU's at all...only helps when there is more than one card.

Ok, if Dirt 2 was bad.. This one is sure beyond saving even with a patch..

In my experience you are very wrong. Shift is transformed with this patch, handling is way better, AI seems less unnecessarily aggressive and performance (at least with my Crossfire setup) is much improved. Sure its not as anally retentive a sim as some, but with a decent wheel its a bloody good laugh!

I'm able to put aside that NFS is supposed to be arcade and enjoy this game for the DAMN good sim that it is.

Still waiting on the steam patch tho.

can accept in general engine level, but otherwise you just got to be damn kidding. last decent NFS games were Most Wanted & Underground even those were bad comparing to hot pursuit.

LOL, you must be the one whos joking man! Most Wanted and Underground are utter shite, teenage fantasy adventures with appaling handling and no cockpit view....In my opinion they shouldn't have used the Need For Speed name for Shift as its a completely different type of driving game. If Blimey/SMS had the money then EA wouldn't have been involved at all and the game would probably have been released later but also COMPLETE, as it is now!

I installed the patch and DLC earlier today, and now the game is a solid 8/10. Handling has been much improved, AI seem to be less stupid (not 'fixed' in the patch officially??) and best of all the lambo bug has been fixed :D . I can now use my Works Murcielago and Gallardo on the 'Ring to their full potential...on the final straight stretch I hit 208 mph instead of sputtering around in 6th at 145 mph.
