hello to all, hope to all who read this are having a great day (unless your a penn. st. coach-lol)
anyway-lets get to the issue at hand.
I have tried to install several versions of Nero, Roxio and CD burner xp. I have the same problem and that is my bd-rom is not being recognized by any of those. I have deleted my LiteOn ihos104 from my comp. and the re-installed it along w/ the drivers. None of these 3 give my bd-rom as an option to burn.
So is it software or hardware and please help me get it fixed. I have spent of 8 hours trying to get this resolved.
thank you in advance

I don't think your drive has the capacity to burn disks, not even CD's or DVD's

That is why it is a 'ROM' drive

EDIT:Further research seems to confirm this, your drive will not write to any media, only read

Run Administrative tools> Disk Management, does it show up in there? probably more importantly does it show up in the bios? if so, try swapping out the SATA cable and if that doesn't help try switching to a different SATA port.

You might have a point, I have a BD-ROM that only reads BD discs but burns to CD/DVD, can you get one that doesn't write to CD/DVD also?

Edit: Cheesy is right, only reads from DVD/CD also  you really should have spent $5 more for one that can at least write CD's and DVD's

i just checked the box,, bd-rom,,so that means no burning disks correct?
