Hey folks,
First, I want you to know i'm not a native english speaker. I'll do my best to explain to you the situation and reply to you with pertinent informations.

This morning I decided to update the bios of my MSI B350 Tomahawk to the latest version. Got it from MSI website and followed the normal procedure. Percentage got to 100% and PC rebooted. I immediately spammed DEL to enter bios in order to reconfigure it right away. No signal on the monitor is shown. I looked at the LEDs and saw the VGA one was up. I turned the computer off and reseated the GPU. No more VGA LED But still no signal when I'm spamming DEL to enter BIOS... I tried a normal boot and the display stays asleep until I'm on the Windows login screen. I do not have any signal during the whole boot sequence now. Hence I can enter the bios but can't see what I'm doing in it.
I never had this problem while updating my BIOS before.

Things I have tried so far:
-Clear CMOS with paperclip
-Messing with the cables (I have two outputs (DP to PC Screen and HDMI to TV Screen)
-Uninstalling Video Drivers and booting with Windows ones
-Reinstalling Video Drivers from NVidia (I have a 1060)
-Searched the internet in vain. Found some topics talking about a possible UEFI incompatibility.

Thank you in advance. I'll try to provide you as many information as possible.

Up!
I tried entering bios by spamming del blind. Then I try ther following sequence: F6 enter (Loading optimized defaults) then F10 enter (Save and reset). Didn't work.

Complete system specs, be detailed about everything in the case

What specific 1060?

Is it inno3D, Zotac, what?

Get pic of white sticker located on card back and a gpu-z screenshot please

Inno3D GeForce GTX 1060 Compact X1 - 6 Go

OC is via MSI afterburner only.
Entering bios via windows works I guess but I have no signal on display so I can't confirm it. Tried F6 and F10 enter, it didn't do anything. Had to reboot manually.

thing is you have video outs on the board so setting "default" can make expect an APU installed?

i true don't know since i haven't had AMD in ages, it comes from the intel igu and PEG settings in bios can get flaky sometimes (cuz gremlins!).

being "blind" isn't helping though, just be cautious - you could be making it worse. i definitely suggest contacting MSI asap.

MSI has been contacted. I'm waiting for their answer.
1600X has no IGPU. I could have tried MB DVI/VGA otherwise.

Using display port?

I seem to remember having the same problem and it was the display port firmware on the GPU, a 1.4 monitor and 1.2/3 GPU iirc.

When this happens to me it's usually the GPU not liking the monitor.
Could be DP firmware, bad cable, degraded port on the monitor, dying GPU etc.

The first thing to do is try other ports on the GPU - if you're using DisplayPort on your monitor, go and plug it into a TV using HDMI.

well maybe what might help looking more at the bios - 7A34v1Q6(Beta version) - no?
i see 1600X and (i though you mentioned an R5 2600X? got both? should have issues. but it mentions Change the default setting of Secure Boot.

i really don't know, haven't messed much w/o some onboard igp/igpu since socket 7 pretty much. so i'll exit stage left and wish you luck. :)

I updated my MSI X-470 and that bios had the same warning. It has nothing to do with video output, at least mine didn’t. You might have to change your boot order but luckily that wasn’t needed in your case or you had been royalty f……

You are right, I messed up. I have a 1600X not a 2600X. I edited the specs. Thank you.
For the mention concerning the bios file, I don't understand why changing secure boot settings would have messed up the signal to the monitor during post and not in windows.

All was working fine between my GPU and my monitor prior to the bios update. I'll retry HDMI port connection to the monitor. I'm currently on DP but again that was working fine before.

I believe the solution is staring at you: just flash the old BIOS back. But now that you have contacted MSI, wait for their response first.

I tried changing the cable to HDMI. It didn't work. Then I changed the HDMI cable and I was able to see the bios. Investigated the first cable and it worked perfectly fine on my TV... That is incomprehensible...
I tried to go back to DP. Can't see the bios again. So I guess the BIOS Update messed something up related to DP as it was working perfectly fine before. Workaround was finally simple but that's a weird issue... Still don't understand why it happened.
Thanks a lot for the help guys.

Edit: Waiting on MSI's response as I really would like to keep DP for my monitor.

Edit2: Tried to disable fastboot in bios. Still no signal with DP. Will try to disable secure boot.

What DP version is the monitor? What DP version is the GPU

Just to be sure... is the signal missing when DP cable is the only cable connected to GPU?
Cause I have a similar issue when having a DP connection to the PC monitor and a HDMI connection to the TV - even when TV is turned off, the card will send the signal through HDMI until windows comes up. I have to disconnect the HDMI cable if I want to see the BIOS.

GPU is DP 1.4 Monitor is 1.4 too. It was showing Bios fine before the update.

I tested that.
Only DP is connected. >>> No display during BIOS
Multiple output connected >>> No display during BIOS
Not working for me.

On DP
Disabled secureboot (biggest change in the bios update notes) >>> No display during BIOS
Disabled fastboot >>> No display during BIOS

I will study your gpu data in a bit im at work

This apparently is the bios on that card, which is almost 6 years old.

What vid outs are on that card?
