Switch from borderless window to full screen

I do not use Nvidia's DSR since it mess up with frame rate (60FPS cap) and instead i create my own resolutions in NV control panel (2560x1440@75Hz) and game looks much better.

Ah that must be it. I was trying borderless together with DSR now that I think of it, and then got annoyed and switched back to 1080p and fullscreen again. If I run it borderless, it will crash far too often anyway. Thanks

Game looks so much better now! I forced AF x16 with nvidia instead of letting the game do it and it made a BIG difference. Everything looks clean and sharp now. I also let nvidia optimize the game. Seriously...it looks so much better. I haven't tried the DSR deal and tbh I don't think I will. I'm quite happy with the visuals now.

Oh and three crashed ships later I finally found a 30 slot ship. sheesh...

heh i just tried that (16x AF in NV CP, 1x in game, bordeless mode) and holy poop it looked garbage XD

From what I can read, it's both in-game and in NVCP for x16 AF.

both on x16 works and looks OK, bordlerless full screen tanked my FPS badly.

Anybody noticing any improvements with the new Nvidia drivers?

My game is already running better after the obvious mentioned tweaks, but I wonder if the drivers will help more? Anybody noticing any differences with the new drivers in NMS?

Since last night i was using Doom3 profile for NMS which gave me noticeable FPS boost so it's hard to tell now, about the same. Definitely not worse

stuttered a little at first, game runs well.

It already ran fine for me once i disabled Gsync/Vsync and ran the 60FPS cap.

Some mods are already out, I haven't tried yet, don't have enough time right now.

I'm also playing in offline mode on Steam I don't want any patching going on with my game it works fine for me.

I wouldn't worry about it patching. They are currently testing a beta patch but you need to sign in for it. I'm not touching it either. My game runs just fine once I disabled that Gsync line in the config it was even better(they have turned that off in the beta as well)

Any tips for AMD users?

I have i7 930, 18gb ram, and r9 280x with latest drivers.

game stutters alot and generally runs like garbage.

Turn off the in game Vsync use the frame limiter instead. There is also the config tweak that has probably been mentioned here already(disabling Gsync) Not much else I can think of that helped me.

Experimental branch is alright, fixed few bugs like ALT+TAB'ing and it generates shader cache properly. Safe to use IMO.

If you go into your TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS You can set Max FPS to any # I set mine to 45FPS I'm usually around 48-54. Now it's just pegged at 45 and no jumping around also GPU load goes from 99% to 84% now.

Thanks, i'll give that a shot. I disabled gsync, vsync, and set max fps from 30 to 45.

what about full screen and borderless settings?

In my test noticed no change, but had 2 crashes in borderless mode after like 3 hour.

My game crashes everytime I alt Tab while in Fullscreen mode. Going to borderless mode completely fixes the crashing, but I don't notice any difference in performance.

What's funny I play full screen and have had no problem Alt+Tabbing at all?

I've had one crash since release. I run full screen and have never crashed from alt-tabing. Game just runs in background and I use the task manager to bring it back forward. No issues I do it all the time.

This game runs awesome as far as I'm concerned. I have it set to 60 fps and it never drops below it. Not even to 59 fps. I have no stuttering or anything it just runs perfect. I force vsinc through NVCP and i don't experience any screen tearing and the fps always stay locked at 60. With the NV force of AF x16 and nvidia's optimized settings (though I made it custom as they had left one option on medium so I turned it to high). Game just runs perfect. I don't know what else to say about that and the visuals are much cleaner now so I can't complain.

For me I just want to see some additions to the game itself and maybe some changes here and there. All in all I'm one happy gamer.

Well I just gave the beta a spin.Better FPS, game is still nice and smooth, no complaints so far.

Same, I switched to borderless in hope I never crash. When I was in fullscreen I never crashed, so I'm back to it.
