erm, just in case you want to explore plot options without having to replay the whole game, you can download save files (or save editors) here: http://www.masseffectsaves.com/

1) I second what everyone else said. The title of this thread is a spoiler. Perhaps a little more discretion in the future for those who have not played this, now well over 5 year old, game.

2) It is rather obvious that you are playing on a console. If you had said that you wouldn't have gotten the snarky responses from people suggesting you save more. If you are on a computer then you've really shown how green you are with RPGs. There's a reason there are infinite save slots...

3) After you beat the game you can play through again as Shepherd at the level you were (only way to obtain a level 60 character). The first play through is the easy learning curve, then you step the difficulty (and firm affiliations) on the second pass. Restarting from as far along as Virmire is a huge time sink that you do not have to endure.

4)
So Wrex died. It doesn't influence Mass Effect 2 in any impactful manner. Until ME3 comes out we really don't know what influence there was.

5) Things die. Enjoy a refreshing twist when you get to kill off one of the most volatile members of your crew. If you're evil, that's just how galactic domination works. If you're good, then why the heck did you tell Ashley to "take care of the situation." That had evil intentions written on it in bold, glowing letters.

Well one major part of Mass Effect is replaying the game so that you do things in a way which yuo didn't the first time round.

The reason why I have played Mass Effect 2 so many times.

I do 2 play throughs of Mass Effect games. One as a male paragon Shepherd, and one as a fiery-red-headed renegade female :)

I am playing on a PC. yes this is the first RPG ive ever played.

................... actually wait no thats a lie i played Oblivion till i got the vapirism disease

I have restarted completely and glad i did. I have curred Ashley of her alien racism and ive been talking to Wrex because i want to do his Family Armor quest

And restarting is actually way more fun now that i know more about the game from waht my friend has told me, and its not much of a time sink, its summer all the free time in the world :D

Oblivion and ME are not good RPG's. I won't comment at all on Oblivion, but ME is a good action/RPG but not RPG. For pure roleplaying I suggest the old Bioware-games and the Black Isle games. And Arcanum.

I had the choice to kill him or not.
It was a easy choice.
I killed him.
Wasnt a hard choice here either. Shot him in the head. Then sprayed him on the ground with my m8 up to overheat.
