Normal 2.5 inch SATA SSD or M.2 SSD

Hi guys,

I find that my 256GB SSD is not enough anymore and I would like to buy a new one, 500GB+ around 100-120£ .

Can you advise if there is a difference in performance between a normal SATA SSD and an M.2 one , obviously both around same price ?

If they are both around the same price, chances are the M.2 SSD is still running on the SATA standard, so there wouldn't be a noticeable difference.

Using M.2 reduces cables. That's an advantage.

The M2 is still slower to start up your system, so the difference is next to nothing.
