NVidia 576.02 breaks GPU temperature and rpm sensor read out and use for some applications

How they can fuck up so many driver releases in row? Feels unrealistic that I still have to use 566.36s from Dec to have stable drivers.
You have a 3080, you don't need the latest drivers anyway. ATM, the only real reason to have them is the RTX5000 cards.

But doesn't new games want that user has new, optimized drivers!

Issue still present with version 572.02; just reverted to 566.36 and now both Fancontrol and windows task manager are showing the correct temperature of GPU as HW info, wich was always working.

I'm on 4070 Super.

You need to use the hotfix driver if you want it fixed.

Nvidia tries to Sabotage the Non-Data-Center-Customers? Don't know but there is so much Trouble in the last Weeks with Hardware and Software. Maybe they had too much Success and rely on the Monopoly and put the Ressources now mostly on AI-Hyperscaler Datacenter.

I was happy with my Intel Arc-GPU till ON1 dropped the Support for DirectML in Photo Raw. So i decided to buy a new 3060 12GB.

AMD was not a Option because with a Radeon maybe the Support in my loved Image Editing Software could be dropped too.

Nvidia is the Market Leader and is in a Monopoly-Position to decide what the Software-Developers make compatible. And if they don't do it, they loose the biggest possible Customer-Base.

Lets hope for the best that they get better Driver-Releases in the near Future.

It was stable before the Temperature-Bug and Fingers crossed that it was not dangerous for the Lifespan of the GPU-Chiplet. That is what concerns me the most and we know what these Companys tell us...

No problems here on 4070Ti.

Somehow, the new driver screwed up text clarity on my monitor. Re-running the cleartype wizard didn't help much.

Ty, i turned on the pc later and the issue was still present after a "shut down" (i only restarted when i commented); just installed the hotfix driver 576.15 and after both a reboot and a turn on, the temperature seems to be shown and updated correctly.

I've had the same issue with temp sensor readings in FanControl and Overwatch 2 after driver update - the temp value had been always just static at the starting value about 29-32 degrees.

Just now I've finished the Reinstall of the drivers via the Express Mode in nVidia App - and the issue had gone. The readings are correct and updating live even with no reboot. Just after FanControl restart. Hotfix avoided!

The tricky thing - after waking from sleep mode readings are broken again(
Seems like hotfix driver version or rollback to old and stable is unavoidable solution for now.

BTW, hotfix 576.26 is online now.

576.28 update is available via nVidia App. Just in time.

Can anyone confirm that 576.40 game ready driver is good with the GPU temperature number?
I am still using the 572.83 studio driver.

I use it and the GPU temps are showing correct now. Manual fancurve is also working again.

Now I understand drivers for new series can have issues but this looks fishy :ohwell:

First they removed the hotspot sensor now, this:laugh:

That's about the 576.02 driver and it could cause those probs because the manual fan curves did not respond on the temps.
The 576.40 driver has that big fixed.
