NVIDIA today also released new BETA GeForce driver version 182.05 for both Windows Vista and Windows XP. Some games will run a bit faster with this driver compared to the latest official version 181.22:

  • Up to 8% performance increase in Fallout 3 at high resolution and AA.
  • Up to 10% performance increase in F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.
  • Up to 9% performance increase in Half-Life 2 at high resolution with AA.
  • Up to 11% performance increase in Left 4 Dead at high resolution with AA.
  • Up to 10% performance increase in Race Driver: GRID at high resolution and AA.
Unfortunately, direct links from NVIDIA give me "Page Not Found" message, so I'll give download links from our colleagues at Guru3D.

181.22? I thought it was 182.05?

Has anyone tried these to see if you can see the performance?

it was a typo, he meant 182.05, look at where the link directs you.

Yeah, I knew it was a typo, I just didn't want to sound smart and get a warning.

If someone can confirm these work ill def get these. i like the upgrade in FPS for l4d.

confirm them yourself!

Got a little increase in L4D on my 24" monitor.

Using the 295 with 181.22 and a P1, i updated to PhysX 9.09.0203 the other night and ran some benchmarks and played some games. Noticed a slight increase in some games, maybe 1 or 2 frames, nothing major, only noticeable after a while. In I-Fluid and the PhysX screensaver however jumped 10 - 12 frames.

After installing 182.05, my framerate in games and benchmarks increased overall by about 5%. BUT dropped 40 frames in I-Fluid, and the screensaver felt like it was showing pictures instead of video ( 1 frame every 5 seconds ).

crysis benchmark_gpu.bat completed with no changes in fps at all
but oh well thats good enough for me

EDIT: sry, 180.70 OC get the same results as 182.05 not overclocked :slap:

Don't install these if you play punkbuster enabled games. Got constant kicks today from BF2142 with just PUNKBUSTER text and did everything. Updated punkbuster, re-enabled services, deleted old files, even patched the game again. Went back to 181.22 and no more punkbuster errors.

Funny thing is I've played with those drivers couple days already without any problems, but not anymore.
