The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-series SUPER lineup is real, and is coming this January, Chinese tech site IT Home reports. The publication released the exact dates on which NVIDIA is announcing the series, along with their market availability dates. The lineup refreshes the higher end of the RTX 40-series, and consists of three SKUs—the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER.

According to the IT Home report, NVIDIA in a GeForce RTX event along the sidelines of the 2024 International CES, will announce all three SKUs on January 8. This will be followed by a January 17 release for the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER. This is when you'll be able to buy the card. A week later on January 24, the company will make the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER available. Wrapping things up will be the January 31 availability of the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER.

The anticipation is killing me, oh, uh, wait a minute, no, no it doesn't.

*Wallet sighs with relief*

Looks like I'll be pretty busy doing like 30 reviews in January t.t
Good luck W1zz! Even though I don't expect to buy one (will probably wait for RTX 5000 series for that) I would like to see what NVIDIA deemed so important to release these slightly refreshed GPUs.

If they add some VRAM and the new models will just slot into old ones price tiers, then the 4070 Super might be a decent buy.
But, you know, not holding my breath. I fully expect 12 gigs, maybe a SM or two more and a 700 dorra pricetag or some other inanity.

All this means is I'lll hopefully be able to move up to a 4080/4090 and pay less. Hopefully...

I just want 240FPS at 1440p without relying on DLSS... is that too much to ask?

Defiantly overpriced but certainly not trash.

They are barely better than the RTX3000 series, except if you purchase the 4080+ compared to their progenitors, yes, they are overpriced and yes, that makes them trash, nothing wrong with my statement.

Combining "Ti" and "Super" still gets me. If you're combining nomenclature like that, one of which is already more performant than the other — at least traditionally — then that 4070 better perform exactly like a 4080.

Not "4080 levels" of performance, exactly like a 4080 lol.

I'm good, picked up a vanilla 4070 months back for $220 using gift cards and selling off the 3060 Ti.
That will hold me over well enough until something actually next-gen is out.

...and for the record, it's Ti Super-Duper Pro Max Q Ultra (gawd)...

NVIDIA should really start doing names like RTX 4085 for refreshed SKU's, rather then "Ti Super D Ultra XTXX"

If the rumours are correct and I'm inclined to think they are going by Nvidia these days they will have a slight bump in performance and maybe cost a bit less so still way to expensive. I'd have liked to see 4080 super move up a tier but that won't happen those chips are probably saved for mostly AI regardless of how they're packaged, at this point in generation cycle I'd skip and look to 5xxx. This generation is FUBAR.

Depending on what changes are made, a 4070 Ti Super may have the performance of a first-flight 4080, which might be worthwhile -if the price is fair of course.

if there’s a bit more memory bandwidth, it could be very interesting.
