Great tablet got a little cheaper

It's Tegra X1!!!

I wish it was available in my region, because this thing is a beast. I've seen what's possible with a Tegra K1 dev board (which had almost twice the GPU power of my $700 laptop), but this puppy kills all media streaming boxes.
Phoronix already published some benchmarks of X1 on Ubuntu and in most cases it is just a bit behind Core i3-5010U (except some compilation benchmarks) and is definitely more bad-ass than Celeron and Atom-based Intel NUCs.
And that's not counting the Maxwell GPU with 256 CUDA cores!

Huh. Can this thing run BOINC or F@H?
Might get one just to play around with it.

F@H most likely.
BOINC: will 100% work with Android.

I tried several of my ARM systems running various Linux distros, and while BOINC client worked flawlessly and connected to the monitoring software on my PC, those cruncher nodes were unable to obtain new tasks.
Received an error message "Platform not supported" and a 1 hour timeout.
Tegra X1 uses an octa-core ARMv8 CPU, so I cannot tell for sure whether BOINC will work or not under Linux. All of my stuff is ARMv7-based (Allwinner A20, Broadcom BCM2836), which used to be supported, but does not work at present.

Generally speaking (in my experiences), World Community Grid does not work on ARM running Linux, but it does work on ARM running Android. Why not Linux is beyond me.

Here's another code for anyone who's interested: h6jv2hj7p

It's good until November 19.
