Official TECHPOWERUP HWBOT Team Information Thread

The time has come to sell chips, I am also considering selling my custom PSP Go with official carrying case and a few other accessories for money to buy chips or maybe a used board and chips with.

Just bought a RIVE + 3970x + one DIMM for $110. So excited. Need to get four sticks of DDR3 and I'm set. Really excited to bench Intel HEDT as I never had it. I wanted this setup so bad in 2012.

@ShrimpBrime I am currently benching a GT 1030 DDR4 version which you have apparently already done, and even with my 9950x @ 5.8GHz I can't beat your scores

Also, join our team please!

Well you need 100mhz more core frequency and another 100mhz Vmem frequency and that should get you closer. (I just compared our scores)

Legacy benchmarks and Firestrike, you can utilize LOD adjustments. Make use of that ;)

Thanks for the advice, I will try next time.

Anytime you'd like advice, glad to help!! 100% On the same team or not.

Here's how you get the best of 14900K subs on chilled water with RTX 4060 benching 3DMark05 on air. :)

Yep, no card OC. It's got plenty of shaders for 3d05, so it's pure cpu bottle-neck.

Does chilled water count as extreme cooling and make you have to join the Extreme league?

I'm a perma-enthusiast and not a great one, my dream would be to be #1 in the enthusiast league, but that's never happening

Extreme is DryIce and LN2 or Helium.

Enthusiast is single stage and cascade or lower. Where some Cascade units can get as cold as DryIce.

The Cooling leagues is a plain fucking joke and always has been.

That means your chilled loop against anything colder is going to loose and you don't get point recognition from the different cooling leagues. So why bother even having cooling leagues.

Wanna make lots of points? Get the latest and greatest most expensive hardware you can throw your money at and you'll make big points. And of course top spots on the popularity contest. Don't bench AM2 Athlon processors and expect to gain points.

Interesting. Thanks for enlightening me. And yes, having the newest or most recent hardware generally accounts for a lot of my points. You are correct.

New hardware is where its at with benching at the bot for sure. I remember swinging my dingaling thinking I had shit hot scores for my old hardware, enter them in and nuthin lol.

Bought a new computer 4 or 5 years ago, benched the shit out of it and got huge points. Those points are gone now, taken by others, but still..

Shout Out to team HWBot TechPowerUp!

You guys are now ranked 54th place of all teams and steady climbing. Impressive grinding work by you fellas!!

Team total 29,862.5 points, nearly 100% increase since starting the competition.

Keep up the good work.

Sincerely your's,
Warp9-systems

So recently I have gotten two achievements, one I have wanted for a very long time.

Back in like 2014 I had around 48 gold cups or so, and really wanted the "Collect 50 Gold Cups" achievement, but fell short and had nothing else I could bench to give me the few I needed.

Before I started benching again in 2023 with my new 4090, I had 4 gold cups.. and now recently benching oddball Skylake i3s and AM4 APUS I have gotten the 50 gold cups achievement! I know it might not seem like much or a big deal to some here but I was so close a very long time ago.

Secondly, I recently (within the last week) got the "Make 1000 submissions to HWBOT" achievement and that is probably 100% due to damrics competition. So thanks for the idea and running it @damric

That's outstanding because Golden cups are not exactly easy to earn, especially on old hardware.

Ever need pointer my OC brother, don't be afraid to ask for them. You know where to find a guy ;)

It is grinding, that's the best way to put it. Grinding shopping fleabay or Chinese etailers, grinding trying to get the things to work, grinding to bench, and grinding to get everything submitted. Thanks for all the hard work everyone.

Yeah I think the golden i3-6098p that did 4.9GHz gave me a lot of gold cups, the Ryzen 5500GT did too, and it wasn't exactly because my scores were good, it was mostly because like 3 other people had ever done submissions on the chips.

The 6 point cups are my bread and butter.

ALL Team Members:

Our team is listed as located on Christmas Island. We can leave this unchanged, or change it to something else. Submit your nominations below in a post, then at the end of this month we will have a poll and vote.

I nominate the US. I think most of the people actively benching for the team right now are from the US, though some may be UK.

After months of back and forth, I finally switched from the dead EVGA Enthusiasts team to TPU's Team. Now, catch up! :p

What's your name on Hwbot? Also, welcome to the team, regardless of your points or standing, we are glad to have another benching comrade contributing to the team, which we are trying to rebuild!

Good to have you. We accepted your request. We are currently brainstorming our next contest, but in the meantime get some points.

Switching teams was a long process. There is a lot of incorrect information on their site and forum.

Right! I had to have an admin manually switch me over back in December.
