This tool has saved me hours of screwing around with a server and its clients, looks like a fantastic timesaver.

thought it be worth sharing, and getting input/advice from people as they use it on how best to set it up.


basically you tell it what OS/language you want, and it downloads the files from windows update to be installed later, from the local files.
 
you might also have a look on wuinstall and its caching function. you can use a local shared folder for caching windows updates. if one machine within the network needs an update, it firstly searches for it in that cache folder.
-if this update is already there, it just install the update from the local network.
-if the needed update is not existing, it will be downloaded from microsoft's update site and published in the cache folder, for further installations.
quite useful for saving bandwith and low internet connections.
