Ok so I have GTA San Andreas installed from Steam, did not play it for a while since there was no option for 1080p display setting and I tried to use a converter to "downgrade" to an older version but it did not start.
Ok so I started it with the original .exe and there was a 1080p resolution option now, nice!
But now I've noticed my old beloved MS Sidewinder does not work anymore in the game! Bummer!:(
Is there anyway to get this working again?

Is it recognized by windows? Does it work with other games?

Yes it's recognized by windows and working fine with other games!
And before the Steam update it always worked fine with GTA SA!

I guess no one owns and plays with an old 2003 MS sidewinder anymore :(

They changed something with the controls so the game now supports the xbox 360 pad so maybe thats why your pad is not working anymore?

I could be wrong but you might now need to use some 3rd party program to fool the game into thinking your pad is a xbox pad.

x360ce XBOX 360 Controller emulator is what i used to use untill i got a 360pad and a logitec f310 pad.

Yeah I was reading about that, I also have an xbox 360 controller but I just prefer playing these games with my old beloved MS sidewinder,
I can still use it with GTA Vice City and with GTA IV. But thanks for your reply:)

Ok so I was using xbox360 controller emulator V3.0 files for games using XINPUT with GTA IV,
today I copied these same files to the GTA SA folder and I can use my MS Sidewinder again in GTA SA! :D
Should have tried that sooner... But I'm happy now!:peace:

Still one of my big beefs with Rockstar, sell us a broken game on Steam that they fixed on mobile devices, but never on PC, even though the fix is to crack the game....

Mods and a few performance fixers out make it a pretty sweet looking game on newer systems where it has the processing horsepower to overcome the poor coding.

I don't have to "downgrade" the executable anymore to get the 1080p resolution option, the latest version of this game on Steam is from November last year.

Since the last patch i have no issues setting 1080p or even 1440p, Some people still had issues though so you could say it works ok for some and not others.

There may be a newer version,I don't remember exactly where I've downloaded this version, but you can use google.
See the attachment, this version works for me.

Edit: I copied all the files from the zip file to the GTA SA directory, except the file XInputTest.exe

Good luck!
