There is also the 'sequel' to Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross for PSX (if it was not already mentioned)

I started to play that, but I never got into it. Chrono Trigger on the other hand.. Simply breathtaking!

I really havent played the second Vandal Hearts. the first one is way better imo.

SaGa Frontier was a great game of its time, lil confusing but great.

Never played the Grandia series but my brother is now on his emulator and looks decent and has a decent storyline.

Dont forget about Legend of Mana. its abit cartoony but awesome.

One of my favorite game series ever is the the Shin Megami Tensei series on PS2, other than that I would say theres too many to count, PS1 and PS2 combined have the bulk of some of the greatest RPG games of all time.

and Grandia is a really good series, especially grandia 2

so is Wild arms 2 and 3, the battle system is just like grandia's(2 and 3) but with guns

I forgot about Shin Megami Tensei, I never played them but my room mate has been playing them mostly Persona 4 recently. Looks pretty good.

Oh and my MOST favorite RPG EVER for PS1 is Breath of fire 3. I just love the Breath of Fire series. I never played BOF4 as I hate cell shaded games.
