NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Mobile. Is it possible with this program to lower the frequencies or TPD? I need to do an underclocking on this card in order to use it in HP 8770 and Zbook G2 laptops (TPD max 100W). Burn-in test Temperature 70oC hot spot 81 oC. Unfortunately at 120W it does not work stably.
PS. i don't know if i should start a new topic or ask here?

Hey guys! tried installing this higher watt rom: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/258345/msi-rtx4060mobile-8192-221211
I've tried to turn off the protection too before but it didn't let me. Is there anyway to fix it?

Hi,

has anyone tested Gainward Panther RTX 4070 with another manufacturer's bios? With the standard bios, the fans start at 1150rpm and the sound is unpleasant. With standard settings, the fans usually remain spinning close to the minimum revolutions, which are at 30%. In 30% there is a small hum, which sounds unpleasant. In fact, the sound is not so bad if you lock the rotations of one fan control to 34% and the other to 37% using Gainward's own program expertools, but it's annoying to adjust manually every time you start playing.

How to repair a bricked card ?
Code:
As long as your EEPROM holds any NVIDIA ROM, it is reflashable

First boot with CSM enabled, from another card.
This marks in UEFI state that card as priority device

Now turn off the PC and put your bricked card into slot two
Do keep your display out to your primary helpers card
Due to the primary card being in priority mode - it will accept boot and not fail detection

Use:
.\omgvflash.exe --index=0 -6 backup_rom.rom

And be more careful next time :)
Anything like a Lightning / Matrix / GALAX HOF card, does utilize modifications on the PCB
RTX cards do mostly adapt to memory and powerplug changes (inconsistencies) but there are limits.
Sadly... no success

PS C:\nvflash> .\omgvflash.exe --index=0 -6 .\01_NVIDIA.RTX3080Ti.12288.210326.rom

You should be able to adjust the power limit, voltage and frequency curve, as well as the memory clock and core clock by themselves using MSI Afterburner or equivalent tuning software. You can simply have MSI Afterburner start up and automatically apply the custom profile for your GTX 1070M when you boot into Windows. AFAIK, in my experience doing the same thing on many different 20 and 30 series laptops, there is no need to flash your VBIOS since you can achieve what you're looking to do with software.

Pretty cool to see people still do something with my random ideas :p For verification on the origins of the tool created on win-raid I went to lost with the how and whys giving him the info he needed and he made the tool under that guidance as I don't have any modern assembly/disassembly tools, well, not modern enough anyway apparently. The tool came into being because I just got pissed off of nvidia locking everything down making owning a GPU boring AF. The most exciting thing about owning a PC used to be seeing how far you could take a GPU with vRAM timing mods, voltage & cooling mods, etc. Now with all the GPU vendors locking everything down owning a GPU is about as interesting as pressing a systems power button.

Before anyone asks "Will I come up with something similar for AMD", I dunno, their hardware security doesn't suck like nvidias so is more airtight. I was halfway there once for Vega64 so... we'll see.

ED: Whats happened to all the smilies around here? No I don't like this change at all. Yea.. first time back in years and my main concern is the lack of smilies heh.

Is there any guide or tool for modding vBIOS of Turing cards? I'm using a 2060 right now to be specific, and I just want to change the PL for now. MSI Afterburner doesn't allow it

How can i force the flash?
latest omgvflash
i used the -6 switch, and i have backup rom, and a ch314a programmer if needed.

I want to hack my P104-100 card to Asus GTX1080 turbo.
The PCB is 99% the same, VRAM is the same (micron GDDR5X), GPU is not 100% the same. (GP104 but different rev)
i disabled the card in the device manager, i used the --protectoff switch.
same error with nvflashk

I tried to see if this has been done before posting this question but I was not able to find anything.

I have a PNY rtx 4070 which I have liquid cooled running a max boost clock of 3gHz, however I keep hitting the power limit. Would it be possible to flash it with one of the OC version bios? Like say from the Colorful iGame variant? That card has a higher TDP of 240w.

I have a similar problem, but I want to modify the cmp40 hx.
I want to turn it into the year 2070, there is a video on the Internet how to use pathed driver works in games almost like RTX 2070 and I succeeded. but at the same time, you can't change almost anything in MSI Afterburner, and I would really like to do undervolting, since the card is noisy. so I was wondering if it was possible to flash the bios on it from 2070 so that everything could be edited in Afterburner. and if it doesn't work out, is it possible to modify the voltage in the native bios in any way and flash it using omgvflash.

In theory with this tool can you flash a 2060 12gb card to a Quadro/Tesla equivalent for e.g. Q5000/Tesla T4?

I have an RTX a4500 can i flash that into an RTX a5000? for that sriov sweetnes? did anyone tryed that?

RTX4500

RTX a5000
GPU Device Id: 0x10DE 0x2231 PG132 SKU 500 VGA BIOS

No. What you want to do cannot be done. SR-IOV in Ampere is exclusive to GA100.

Has anyone figured out how to fix the NV_UCODE_ERR_CODE_CMD_EWR_OK_TO_FLASH_CHECK_FAILED error with a modified BIOS?

I've done a small mod to a GTX 980 Ti BIOS and then tried to fix the checksum with the Mobile Pascal TDP tweaker, but it refuses to flash with the error above.

not working on other card CMP 100-210 to Tesla V100 same GPU same board....

Did you managed to get around this? I have Tesla P100 and want to flash it into Quadro GP100

Anybody tried to flash Palit CMP 70HX with Palit RTX 3070 Ti bios?
I have a CMP's 70HX with BIOS 94.04.5D.00.07 (Device Id: 10DE 248A, Subsystem Id: 10DE 248A)
Want to flash with 3070 Ti BIOS 94.04.5A.00.2C (Device Id: 10DE 2482, Subsystem Id: 1569 F278)

Do a --version check and see if the SKU numbers are the same, if they are - then it should be fine

Hmmmm, wierd... Different SKU's but same Project number, I don't have any direct experience with such case, but I
never had a CMP card. Go for it, worst case you will need a reflash and even if you have a single card you cand do it
"blindly" by preping a .bat file that reverts it (I flashed my 3080 with every possible BIOS combo before figuring out what is what and having no picture many times hehe)

So i flashed a 220 SKU VBIOS to a 200 board, where 220 boards are LHR models - no go - makes it a brick, and some other findings before I realized what it SKU should match

Just flashed my CMP 70HX to Palit RTX 3070 Ti ROM using "-i6" option . Tried to install patched Nvidia drivers - Error code 10. Tried Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti FE ROM - the same result.

On CMP cards not just the bios is different. SMD Straps on the card, and also the falcon security is preventing the card to boot with non CMP bios.
