GPU-Z 2.53.0 on Win10 on an Acer Predator laptop. System details:
GPU-Z is configured to start automatically, minimized to systray.
As long as GPU-Z is running, one CPU core out of 12 is always at 100%. Even when the app is minimized to systray, one core is still busy. Or if I maximize the app, it's still the same. It's annoying because the fans spin a little faster than what's normal for idle mode. So the laptop is never fully quiet anymore.
If I quit GPU-Z, then CPU usage returns to very close to 0 on all cores.
Looking at the Processes tab in Task Manager, it's the System process that uses the core. When GPU-Z quits, System returns to near 0% CPU usage.
I believe this has started to happen recently, but I don't know exactly when.
