Outer Worlds Benchmark Test & Performance Analysis

That said, I know the Dirt series benchmark isnt the same each time (same track and weather, but finishes in. Different.place, like 4th then 2nd, etc). and it is integrated/canned (but still within 1%).
Which DiRT game? That doesn't sound like how DiRT Rally works.

The thing that makes this REALLY sad is the fact that AMD was partnered for this release. Usually, that means a conservative stance on graphical fidelity, with decent performance on most systems, with the absence of Gameworks nonsense, as well as decent driver support for AMD on launch. And what do we get? A stuttery mess, poor performance on cards that should have no issue with this game, and even a UI bug with the driver released specifically to support this release.

Get it together, Red.

I blame Unreal Engine. Using nvidia, despite good framerate, also suffers frametime variance in some areas despite using latest driver.

Don't have this issue with most ue titles though. Even ones that look better. Hopefully patches can fix it.

Yes, the game needs a patch.

Performance is not very constant, with frequent breaks that lasts for 2 or 3 seconds.

I don't think it's the engine, I've played a lot of games with Unreal Engine without any problem.

All of them? At least up to dirt 2...I think Grid may have been like that as well?
I only have DiRT 3, 4, and Rally. I don't know about 3 and 4, but Rally definitely doesn't work the way you describe.

Grid did iirc... f1 2018...maybe 2017. Arent these all Codemasters titles? Anyway, point is, rarely, there is variability in integrated as well. :)

My point really was that I trust a computer to reproduce graphical conditions more than I trust a person to do it manually.

And a point I agree with. Just sharing some integrated can be wonky too. :)

I’m really loving this game!! Obsidian really has given us something that has been sorely lacking: an RPG that is filled with good characters and writing. It’s the FNV sequel they never got to do, but on other planets.

It is witty, attacks real world subjects as Science Fiction has always done since its beginning, yet is witty, sarcastic and doesn’t take itself too seriously on anything. Good solid gameplay with actually decent companions.

Some issues i have with techpowerup community:-

1) it's okay to throw stones and curse a game for it being nvidia friendly, but if someone slightly shows any anger on highly AMD biased games, their comment gets downvoted or receives warning or comment gets hidden as 'poor comment'

2)a lot of positive comments when AMD beats nvidia in Nvidia sponsored title(because the game engine favors AMD regardless of which company is sponsoring), but a lot of negative comments and backlash when the tables are turned.

3) people are quick to defend AMD's failure with facts and logics but these same people mocks when Nvidia fails the same and they suddenly becomes dumb and all their previous facts and logics goes out of the window.

Why?? Why so much double standard?? Gpu segment is the only category where the PC community is most split and biased. And recently the biased mentality towards AMD is just mind boggling. Sorry if i have broken some community rules or what not. But i had to say these. Again sorry.

It’s not a double standard. You also are looking at it through green and red. Every point you made most emphatically does apply in the reverse too. Both sides are extremely guilty of thinking that their loyalty and defense of a corporation will somehow result in a better world for themselves.

Truth...though if you made me point out where the arrow leans here, team red takes that crown. ;)

Yes that's exactly my point. Every point i made is true for both sides. But most people tends to give AMD a free pass and beat Nvidia. You can go and look in any comment thread of any game performance test in this website and you will easily notice these biased mentality. Yeah there are Nvidia biased comments too but not nearly as much as AMD biased comments. Why can't people just understand that all these companies just want our money, nothing else. No one is saint. So there's no point of blindly defending any specific company.

Two new games i want ,Outer Worlds and GOW 5 , and my 1080Ti can't wait:rockout:

AMD really needs to optimize for this game via drivers. I'm playing it with an RX 5700 flashed to RX 5700 XT and getting about the same frame rates as the XT got in the testing here. Just sub 60 fps @ 1440p. Occasionally there are bigger slow downs. I don't know if that is AMD's fault or the developer. I also get a glitch where when you are talking to someone, their animation pauses, though the conversation continues. Hopefully a patch or a driver update will fix the performance issues with the game. I like the game itself a lot.
