2x 2GB Kingston DDR2 800Mhz KVR800D2N6/2G 1.9V [5-5-5-15] w/ Heatsinks

my new build

GA-EP45-DS3P @ F8
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 w/ Zalman CNPS-8000 + Artic Silver 5
2x2 Kingston DDR2 800Mhz KVR800D2N6/2G w/ Heatsinks
Corsair 750TX

Well i can choose to stay with 2x2 Kingston DDR2 or get 2x1 Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX, but for gaming with vista x64 ultimate only 2gb isn't enough right?

About the OVERCLOCK can i use the same options for 3.6 and just try to find the right "Vcore" or it'll be different this time?? My E8400 is perfectly stable with these options... i've ran many tests as possible with Prime95 - 24h... Orthos - 20h... Super PI... etc... and i'm using for 5-6 months already up 24/7 without any problems at all

Complete Config:

Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3P @ F8
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 w/ Zalman CNPS-8000 + Artic Silver 5
2x 2GB Kingston DDR2 800Mhz KVR800D2N6/2G 1.9V (5-5-5-15) w/ Heatsinks
3x 500GB Samsung SATAII + 2x 750GB Samsung SATAII (Thinking about RAID 0 with 2 500GB Samsung this time)
Pioneer 216D SATA
PowerColor HD4850 PCS+ 1GB/256bits GDDR3 700/1960 (Future CFx with HD4870X2+HD4850)
Case: Elegance (3x 120mm fan 3x 80mm fan)
Display: Samsung LCD LN40A550 1920x1080@60Hz
Razer DeathAdder 3G
Microsoft Wired Keyboard 500
Microsoft Lifechat VX-3000
Zalman ZM-MFC1 Fan Controller
HP PSC 1315 All-in-One
NoBreak APC 1500VA
Powered By Corsair 750TX

I just want a stable 3.6GHz to keep up 24/7 without any problems...

I would be very thankful for any help :)
and sorry for my bad english :(

I game in Vista X64 with only 2gb and I do just fine. The corsair ram would be a better solution than the kingston. As for overclocking, it's the same as your E8400.

You're going to need a much better CPU heatsink than the CNPS-8000, for running at 3.6GHz. That cooler is not going to cut it with a quad-core Q9650. Period...

My opinion., Wait till you get your build and set it up all stock,

then run it all on auto except the FSB at 400 and i bet it running rock solid

Then depending on what you feel are your goals, youi might upgrade your CPU cooler
I like the XIG direct Touch, also you might get some better ram since it;s so cheap.

That Chip will run ROK SOLID at 4Ghz around 1.3v and with the XIG direct Touch temps will be no problem at all.
If you get the XIG Direct Touch, get the extra, screw down mounting, i hate pushpins.

When you going from 400 to 450FSB you might have to set some voltages, like your ram, Vcore and stuff like that.
Also when you got it running good, then you start backing down the Vcore voltage and i bet you could get it under 1.3v, I got mine to 1.28v with the Xig and ROK Solid. then temps are a dream.

Keep us posted and when it's up and running give me a shout and we'll rock that bad boy.

Also there are a lot of people here with MAD skillz, so when you are doing your settings they will come out of the woodwork to make sure you get it right, so no worries.

Welcome to TPU, and enjoy the ride! :rockout:
