ey guys its been going through my mind, i honestly dont think my ram modules will be able to keep up with my fsb if i want to go for a 1:1 ratio, i was planning for 450 FSB, but i dont know if my ram will overclock to 900MHz, any thoughts :(

so my question is, will i be able to get over 900MHz with 667 Modules, ive been able to go to 838MHz with my crappy mobo that hates high memory speeds (P5N32 SLI SE DELUXE)

and also you think i can reach 3.6GHz on my E6400 L2, with an Abit IP35-E

if your interested about my cooling, i have a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme, i have 1 Fan in a push config and getting another for push/pull (both 120mm fans throw out 50cfm)

any thoughts????????

why dont you run unlinked? Then you dont need to OC the RAM.

yea but the pc works best and is slightly more stable if it is @ a 1:1 ratio and also looks nice too :D

First of all my ram (533MHz) overclocks upto 686MHz.
Your mobo is more than able to reach such speed

have you tryed the mem with cas5, 5-5-5-15 ?

drop the multiplier down then push the fsb up and see where it all goes.. u might get there u might not.. its easy to find out..

trog

yer, i honestly dont like having my mem more than 4-4-4-12 1T, i got it to 838MHz with those timings and worked flawlessly, anything higher and was slightly unstable :(

Then dont expect to hit 900MHz :toast: Loosen up your ram 5-5-5-15 and give er a go!:D

What voltage are you pushing through them?

My ram is stable @800MHz but not much higher than that. I havnt tried giving more voltage

Go to 5-5-5-15 it ain't going to kill you at 900 mhz.

merely dropping to 2t should allow a better overclock, i was using a set of 667 ocz chips which were good for around the same speeds (850cl4 1t) and when i dropped to 2t it was fine at 1066cl4, both tests were at 2.2v (it dosent cause such a large drop in performance as it does with DDR1 BTW)
