So I got bored tonight and pulled my 3.4GHz P4 from my Biostar P4M900M4 motherboard and put it in my Abit VT7 since I've noticed it has some nice overclocking features in the BIOS, this is completely for fun, and I need some help. Parts list as follows:

CPU: P4 3.4GHz Prescott 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL8K4
MOBO: ABit VT7 http://www.uabit.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=32&Itemid=48&page=2&model=162
HSF: Gigabyte G-Power Lite http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products....aspx?ProductID=2129&ProductName=G-Power Lite
RAM: 2x1GB Patriot Signature DDR-400 PC3200 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220079
PSU: Antec TruPower Trio 650 W
OS: Windows XP SP2
1x92mm front intake fan 1x120mm exhaust fan

Idle temps are low 30c area, which I find interesting because while on the Biostar board, they were under 20c at idle, both set ups are in the same case, I did switch the 120mm rear fan because the one that came with the case only spun at 1100-1200rpm and this one is 2k rpm.

I am using an old S3 PCI video card, here is a link to the manual which has some explinations of the BIOS. http://www.prairiejoes.com/tpu/vt7.pdf

For CPU FSB clock min is 100mhz, max is 255 mhz, multiplier is locked, DRAM Ratio has settings of " by speed, 3:1, 4:1, 5:1, and 6:1" right now i have it set to by speed, AGP Ratio (CPU:AGP:PCI) has settings of "Auto, 3:2:1, 4:2:1, 5:2:1, and 6:2:1" right now i have it set to Auto (6:2:1), Core Voltage has settings of "VID- 50mV, By CPU, VID+ 50mV, VID+ 100mV" I have it set to By CPU, DRAM Voltag has settings from 2.5-2.8 at .5 increments from 2.5-2.7 then from 2.7 to 2.8 there is no 2.75 setting set to 2.65 currently(what it was set to on first boot), AGP Voltage has settings from 1.5-1.65 at .5 increments, set to 1.55 currently (also what it was set to on first boot)

emm how high are you planing to clock?

hmm
Chipset
- VIA PT880 / VT8237 chipset
not sure how great these are in overclocking

I guess I'm just curious overall of what it can do.

your maxiumclock trough fsb is 4335mhz
you sould get high clocks with ur cpu at 1,600~1,675v ram at 5:4

That would be nice, hopefully I can get it there on this board.

Just curious, what are the max temps I should run the CPU at under load, realized I didn't know that, and don't want to burn the chip out before I find its max.

60~70c maxium
mine is at 3ghz to 3670mhz at 1,675volts 44,5c max
